Guest guest
Hey Joy. Austin is fully included, and with only 98 kids in 8th grade, he's one of the few that get ESE...but there is a reg teacher and ESE teacher in every class. His eating stems from unspupervised eating, getting to do what he wants. It's been a rough few years, and the boys have eaten alone more than I care to admitt. I worked a lot, and their father was diagnosed bipolar, obsessive comp. The obsession was me, with the compulsion to control me, there was a suicide attempt, tho the boys dont know that, they do know their father spent time in a mental hosp. And no, there's no chance of hereditary passing on to the boys. There was a lot of violence in the home, police, etc for about 6 months before I finally could get out and get boys out. He never touched the boys, was good with them, it was all centered toward me but they did see a little and hear a lot. It's been a period of healing. I do think it's all finally catching up with Austin, he has a delay in processing things. Took him 3 years to admitt his dog had passed away. So maybe all the changes, everything he's been through, he's trying for a little control. Well, there's our dirty laundry in a nutshell...Wow. Sorry guys, but the background may help in figuring this out. On the other hand, both boys love new school, house, they are both making friends here. Dakota is playing football for the first time, adjusting and happy. I spent a lot of time the past wow, nearly two years, in Key West. Every weekend I didn't have the boys I was down here. Met a wonderful man, spent 1.5 years building a relationship with him. Boys included. We didn't move down here until June. So while I think it's all been a huge adjustment for the boys, it was a move in the right direction, positive overall, and it's nice to be able to sleep at night 5 hours away from any threat of violence. I actually do sleep now. The boys do as well. Being in the same town as their father wasn't good for any of us.
