Guest guest
I have been in the " food doldrums " the last few days, lamenting the poor selection of fresh fruits and vegies available in the winter in Minnesota. Today, I bought a big beautiful head of organic cauliflower (paying $3.49 for it vs. $1.49 for conventional). I came home and steamed the cauliflower whole and slathered it in cream sauce made with MOM's butter and spiked with sea salt and some good, fresh cayenne pepper from Penzey's. I served it with pork chops fried in lard in a cast iron skillet and some organic peas and carrots and a small glass of beet kvass. A pretty good dinner if I do say so myself! Guest guest
> Hi friends! > > Tonight I made some chicken fried in lard. LOL, Kathy, we did the same thing on Sunday evening. Man was that GOOD! I ate every speck of it. We'll be doing it again real soon, esp. since we're able to get rendered lard from Farm On Wheels. ~Joe
