Guest guest
Hi Our daughter is 15 months and have been doing excersies to work on her tongue protrusion. I just wanted to see what other parents of young and older children are doing to help work/worke on minimizing protrusion and excersies you feel that have been successful thanks Alison
Guest guest
My son spent time clicking his tongue to build strength in his mouth. We don't have any tongue issues. From: Alison.Torrey@... Guest guest
When working with as a little one, these are some things we did. Try drinking from a straw, blowing bubbles, blowing whistles, party blowers...anything that you have to move the tongue back to do. If you are using sippy cups, toss them. There are special cups that minimize spilling, but don't promote tongue thrust like most sippy cups. Take care, Kym Tongue Protrusion > Hi Our daughter is 15 months and have been doing excersies to work on her > tongue protrusion. Guest guest
I just kept reminding my (36, DS) to keep her tongue in her mouth and breathe through her nose. Not much help when dealing with an infant, though. granny On Thu, Jul 29, 2010 at 2:12 PM, Alisonc <Alison.Torrey@...> wrote: > > > Hi Our daughter is 15 months and have been doing excersies to work on her > tongue protrusion. Guest guest
We were recommended by his therapist when he received early child therapy to use peanut butter to exercise the tongue and he enjoyed the flavor. I think it went on till he was about 6? Now is is 22yrs (DS) and no problem since. Tongue Protrusion > Hi Our daughter is 15 months and have been doing excersies to work on her > tongue protrusion. Guest guest
When sam was little we played games - Stick out our tongues and pull them in very fast, he would laugh and try it himself. He was able to whistle at about 2 years old and I encouraged this. Now he is 5 and his tongue only comes out when he is DEAD TIRED. I think any sound games that use a " hard " tongue sound t,l,d,n keeps it fun. Anything you do to keep her talking is helpful.
