I called for at the North Mississippi River Interpretive Center today

just to see what was available. We LOVED that place for the last food swap. It

was her day off, but, upon checking the schedule, I found that there was an

opening in the large room that would fit our gathering on the 5th of February,

SO I GRABBED IT!

Many of us found the space INSPIRING and a place to see and appreciate

the wonderful Mississippi River and so much NATURE right in our backyard.

A wonderful place to take children. They enjoy our group and will give tours

and provide bird-watching for all who want it. If you haven't seen the building,

reserve time in your schedule to explore it. Everything in the building comes

from materials that are recycled trash and other creative earth-saving

sources. It's a toxin-free, organic building and very, very beautiful. It's also

completely handicap-accessible.

I know the time is short and many may be unable to attend, but we will be

having MANY events like this and the TASTINGS, POT-LUCKS, FOOD

SWAPS and LECTURES will be ongoing beginning now! Future Trad Food

tastings will compare and contrast EGGS, KIM CHEE, CHICKENS, MEATS,

SAUSAGES, FISH, CHEESES, KVASS, SOUPS, NT RECIPES, and other

traditional foods.

Lynn, and others, I appreciate your offer of your home, and I'd be willing to

host events too, as would several others who've offered. However, I'm

thinking that this event is going to get much bigger than any of us can host at

home. There is nothing wrong with EXTRACURRICULAR EVENTS in addition

to full club events, though. Rebekah and I have hosted an NT FOOD

TASTING every Wednesday night (PIZZA NIGHT) for over a year, for

example, but it wouldn't be possible to do this in our home with a huge group.

I promise to provide more advance notice next time!

1) We are authorized for a POT-LUCK LUNCH as well so this is a chance to

show off your LACTO-FERMENTED VEGETABLES, SOUPS, FAVORITE NT

might go into something amazing!

2) Also bring interesting and healthful CRACKERS for the CHEESE TASTING.

4) Recipes, stories, pictures, books to show-n-tell, and more.

space.
