Guest guest
Hi all, I have been a member now for a while but I don't think I have posted an intro. My name is and I live in California. I have an old vitamix model 3600 plus. I bought it used on ebay a few years ago. When I got it, it needed a new stopper and a new gasket which I also bought from ebay from a seller with good feedback who was a vitamix dealer. The gasket didn't last long before it started cracking again, and I wasn't using it that often. The stopper is like black rubber with a screw in white plastic handle. The stopper keeps getting stuck in the machine and when I pull it out, the handle comes out of the stopper. I want a new machine, but that is not in the budget yet, where can I get a new gasket and stopper that are good? I am going to start making some good healthy smoothies and need it to not spray everywhere. Also, this machine does not chop up the ice good, I am wondering if the newer ones do. I am reading the threads as I may be purchasing a newer one early next year. Thanks.
Guest guest
Hello ,Unfortunately they don't have parts for that machine anymore. Hopefully you can get those parts from the EBay dealer you bought the machine from.A 3600 isn't as powerful or as versatile (doesn't have the lower variable speeds)Would a refurbished machine fore $379 on a 3-payment plan fit into your budget? They come with the same 7-year warranty as a new machine! Guest guest
That would be awesome and that would work on my budget if I started on Nov. 1st since I only get paid once a month and already spent this months paycheck. What machine is that and where do I find out more info and does it crush the ice good? Also, someone mentioned chopping onions in their machine, being vegetarian and eating healthy, I use a lot of onions and totally hate chopping them, can someone point me in the right direction of doing that. I guess that would be whenever I get a better machine right. I am just not crazy about this one that I have. Guest guest
Hi ,Why don't you contact me off list about the details of purchasing a refurb from me (Free Shipping :-) It is the 5200. It crushed ice GREAT! Chopping onions is good too. That is why the variable speed is so important. Onions are chopped at the lower, variable speed #1.I chop veggies to go in casseroles, omelettes, quiches, salads, and stir fries all of the time!
