Guest guest
Good for YOU !! I bet they are gathering legal as they now realize you are one of *those* parents. Guest guest
Interesting. One wonders if they were too distracted by all those kids to be able to be professional educators. ; ) When is/was the IEP review date? After she read the goal, I turned to the gen ed teacher and asked her if she understood the goal and how she was going to implement that goal in the classroom. She stated that the aide would do it. I said again, but how do YOU work with his IEP goals in the classroom. She then stated that she does NOT work with the sped kids.. SHE works with the Gen Ed kids. The AIDE works with the sped kids. She gives the lesson plan to the sped teacher on Fridays and she writes up lessons for the aide to teach him the next week. The sped teacher IS in the classroom working with Logan and another child for an hour/day. The rest of the time the aide is responsible. Next time we sit down it will be with more legal support. On the way home, I was telling how it was in Chip's class for a little boy who has DS. The gen ed teacher calls on him and he works with the other children most of the time. The aide is with him, but she is a support. Guest guest
9/21/10 That is next Tuesday. So, my question on THIS is.. does the fact that SHE tabled the meeting mean that we are at " stay put " ? or Does that mean that on the 21st his IEP is exempt and we can reenroll him in our home school? Could this POSSIBLY work in our favor?
Guest guest
If I recallcorrectly, when there is no IEP in place you revert back to the last IEP and are then in a holding pattern. Guest guest
Unless no IEP is ever written and agreed on after eligibility or a parent revokes consent for an IEP and services (or eligibility decision), there is ALWAYS an IEP in place, it just might not be very up to date. The most recently consented IEP is _THE IEP_ until one way or another, a new one replaces it. Guest guest
Wow! I was not aware the principal was allowed to tableorstop an IEP meeting. No matter how long or bad ours have gotten we've always either finished or agreed we need legal there and reschedule. I would have loved to have seen their faces when you walked in with the whole gang Out of office, Marcia On Sep 15, 2010, at 10:34 PM, " FireRose " <FireRose@...> wrote: > Unless no IEP is ever written and agreed on after eligibility or a > parent > revokes consent for an IEP and services (or eligibility decision), > there is > ALWAYS an IEP in place, it just might not be very up to date. Guest guest
, What would happen if you just went to the school that you wanted Logan to go to and tried to enroll him with no warning? Guest guest
This is correct if you decide to go to due process then under the pendancy law you keep the last IEP you were using.? I don't know what happens when you are in theprocess of creating an IEP,? This is why meetings should be taking place at the end of the prior year so that the IEP is in place or the child is under the pedancy law because the parents and school will be going to due process. ?
