I always am hungry in the mornings. That started about week 3. I

would be starving before my 10:00 meal. Starving before my 12:30

lunch. Now that I'm at 5.5 weeks, it's starting to hit before the

3:00 meal. I'm increasing my protein just a titch and hoping that

will help curb these growlings.

Hi,

I always find that I am hungry sooner on weights days. So I eat closer together

(every 2 hours) and if I run out of meals at the end of the day (ie. it is 8pm

and I've already eaten 6 times) I add a lighter meal like cottage cheese and

strawberries or something like that. It works for me - I am 5'5 " , 124lbs and

about 18-20% bf.

On cardio days I don't seem as hungy, and I mix up my meals times a bit more

1. 7:30

2. 10:00

3. 12:00

4. 3:00

5. 5:30

6. 8:30

Some days it seems no matter what I do I am just hungry - other days I feel

full. Salad tends to make me feel full so I often add a big lettuce, mushroom,

tomato salad with lunch. Salad dressing also helps, so I use about 1tsp. of oil

(canola, flax, UDO's etc) with vinegar and spices. I think the fat helps.

Speaking of hungry...

Which no one else was, but it was in my previous post.

I hear lots of women saying that they are stuffed and eating too much

and aren't hungry for their next meal when it comes around. Does

anyone else have the opposite problem? I'm always hungry at LEAST an

hour before I'm due to eat. I hate it, but as soon as I increase my

portions to the point where I'm not hungry all the time, I start

gaining weight again. Sometimes I think my brain's appetite centre

is just all screwy.

Just so you don't think I'm starving myself, here's a typical day. (I

use a 2/3 cup measure for measurable items, otherwise fist/palm.

8am Protein Pancakes

11am Diet Yoghurt and low fat Cottage Cheese

1pm Chicken, Veg, Brown Rice

4pm (if I make it this far) Protein Shake, Orange

7pm Fish, Veg, Potato

10pm Protein Shake, Pear

I'm 5'7 " . Currently 144lb, and body fat is 22% according to

biofitness.

I eat some of my meals 2 hours apart and

others 3 hours apart depending on how

busy or hungry I get. I would try to get

some closer together so your not waiting

till 10:00 p.m. for your lat meal. My last

meal is 7:00 to 7:30 , 8:00 at the latest.

Are you taking any flax oil? Sometimes upping your healthy fat intake

will alleviate cravings. You may also want to try increasing your

fiber intake, for example, try throwing some frozen berries in your

shake along with your orange, or doubling your veggie portion at your

1pm meal by adding a salad or another veggie. Or you could try a

couple of days forgoing the shakes and see how you feel eating more

real food, or try another carb instead of the yogurt at your 11am

meal, maybe like some oatmeal or a sweet potato.

I'm the same way! Don't feel bad... I was playing around with calories for the

last 2 weeks. I decided to aim for 1200 cal a day ONLY for 2 weeks ends up

being 1700) and have my free days, then go back to my reg portions. But I'm

starting to reincorporate the reg portions and it's keeping me fuller longer. I

figure I gotta mess with my appetite every once in a while so I'm not eating

more and more and more... LOL

I could eat 10,000 cals a day, every day, if I allowed myself, and

that's not a hyperbole. I am a bottomless pit. I used to be a light

eater as a child; I was underweight, and I never wanted to eat. Then

I hit puberty, and, BAM, my appetite sky-rocketed. I made everything

worse by dieting and starving my body. Now, I have a difficult time

differentiating REAL hunger from emotional/psychological hunger. I

could always eat, and the stuff I want and really crave isn't

authorized, either (think donuts, cheesecake, cheese).

What's helped me (even though this sounds counter-intuitive) is

giving myself permission to eat more at every meal if I'm feeling

hungry (PMS week is the worse!). I used to micromanage my calories,

count and recount, obsess over every gram of fat and carbs. These

days if I'm hungry two hours after a meal, I eat more at the next

meal (of the right foods, of course).

Free day throws me for a huge loop; I'm always MORE hungry for two or

three days afterwards, so I've stopped taking it. I just have one

moderate free meal each week. I also drink a ton of water and hot

herbal tea. I try to eat three servings of veggies a day and use

fish as my protein at least once a day. I know that apples and pears

are the only fruits that fill me up, so I stick to those as far as

fruit goes. Protein shakes and bars, on the other hand, don't fill

me up at all, so I stay away from those.

I'm always hungriest in the evenings, so that's when I have to really

focus on not scarfing down everything in the house. I probably

should eat less at night, but I've given myself a break for right

now. I eat two meals after 7 pm. I need to in order to stay sane.

I also take a tablespoon of flax oil with my last meal.

LOL! I feel like I'm going to start clucking and growing feathers

soon, so I know what you mean! :) I think fish is lower calorie than

most proteins (well, red meat anyway), that's probably why the

results, but possibly also why the hungry feelings? I get hungriest

on days where I don't have red meat, I've noticed that.

Hmmmm... big salad. Maybe. I'm not a salad fan unfortunately, but if

it's gonna help me not want to eat the furniture, I'll try it! ;)

I'm definitely a relative of yours Dani ;)

I too, can just eat and eat and eat. I can eat as much as my 6'3 "

husband. Of course, that doesn't really end up looking good. :( I too

have to eat dinner and my last meal after seven or I can't sleep

because my stomach is complaining. Last night I had my last meal at

9pm (early for me) and at 12:15am I gave up and had another meal,

although a 1/2 size one. It was authorised food. After that, I

managed to sleep.

Oh well, it's nice to know I'm not alone, but it sure is an

unpleasant feeling. I KNOW I'm eating enough, so I'll just keep

plugging on.

Did I not mention the flax oil? oops. I take about 2 tsp a day. When

I have Myoplex (not Lite) instead of pancakes I do put berries in as

well, but I was afraid of adding fruit into my protein shake because

I thought it would upset the ratios (since I'm having fruit with it

as well). I'll try some of your ideas and see how I go. Thanks :)

That is so funny! I usually eat my last meal at like eight at night

and my last meal was at six thirty and I know better thant that!!! At

midnight I got up till one and just could not get to sleep cause my

poor body wanted me to feed it. I had some cottage cheese and yougurt

and one in the morning and got back to sleep again. I will try not to

make that mistake again!! It is the worst feeling to go to bed

hungry. I can't even sleep.
