Guest guest
Hi Will, Sorry, but I've not been with the group very long and do not know what the " WAPF route " means. I'm heading back to the Hallelujah Diet as promoted by Malkmus at www.hacres.com. What is the WAPF route? Thanks. SILVER BULLETS? I've been working with people who want to change their health by changing their diet. The WAPF route that makes sense to me is far astray from the PC Diet Dictocrat plan (low fat, soy, veggie) so this becomes extremely dangerous, especially given the tendency for people to savagely attack you if any one thing goes wrong, say a " cleansing " diarrhea or other symptoms that occur with ANY dietary or lifestyle shake-out, no matter how slow or how gentle. If someone brings a complaint, any complaint, to the authorities, you can expect nothing but additional arrows and knives in the back from the medical establishment as well! Maybe even a noose! It's pretty insane. People have also been (mis)led to believe that certain things can cure you instantly. Hugh Lovel, a biodynamic farmer wrote this about people looking for the SILVER BULLET type of cure. I thought it was stingingly accurate as well as being very interesting historically.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~quote:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Virtually all human beings deep down inside believe there's a " silver bullet " , an Only Solution, that " If you ONLY do THIS it will solve all the problems of existence. " Those of us who are enlightened, of course know that the the only such silver bullet is having an infinite and sundry anastomosis of solutions. Nevertheless the belief in the silver bullet is primal and very hard to root out. I think one needn't worry that there will be a mass conversion of PhD's and MDs away from looking for silver bullets. Humanity is really not so far from the days of werewolves and vampires. Silver, it is interesting to note, is in the astral row in the periodic table with copper being on the etheric row and gold on the egoic row. Werewolves and vampires are creatures of aberated consciousness, sensation and desire, which is why the old alchemists such as Paracelsus knew to give people little pillules containing finely divided silver to remedy their susceptibility to these apparations. That these " silver bullets " worked was famous, thus the metaphor. But not all the problems in the world are astral and insanely parasitic. So even though these forerunners to homeopathic medicines were marvelously effective we haven't solved all the problems of existence with silver bullets. It would be quite narrow minded to think so, but many today have that sort of mindset and are prone to say " If ONLY I do x then y and z will never occur. Guest guest
Opps, Gorden, I didn't mean to talk in " code " but the WAPF plan I referred to is the style of nutrition that Weston A. Price discovered back in the 1930's as he traveled around the world. It could be boiled down to the 11 main principles of ALL healthy indigenous cultures around the world. Sally Fallon and others have carried on his work in the brilliant education-research-activism organization the Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF). Much of the plan revolves around encouraging traditional fats, the soy alert, grass-fed foods, lacto-fermentated foods,, real milk, nutrient-dense fruits, vegetables, greens and food. You can find clear synopses of the entire philosophy at www. WestonAPrice.org or in Sally's incredible book NOURISHING TRADITIONS. Please refresh all our memories of what the Hallaleujah Diet is all about, especially the parts that have worked for you or that you particularly like. I'd like to put this in our Links section as well. Will Winter
Guest guest
Hi Will, I understand your frustration, and sometimes I wonder if people sometimes just need so desperately to believe in something, that when they choose to focus on something such as soy diets, etc. - its then like moving a mountain to convince them otherwise. For those that I am happily able to educate, I always make sure to explain to them the concept of your body going through a " Healing Crisis " ahead of time. It's so often the case that things get worse before they get better. But I look at it this way, if I change the life of just one person through sharing what I've learned - then the world is already a better place. There's no arguing that someone that listens, and does what they need to do, is going to without a doubt feel good/better. And what better way to make believers of them and ensure that they share what they've learned? But like anything else, if they don't want the change, why waste your breath?
