Guest guest
I brought Jan and her 80 year old aunt to the mountains for the weekend. Today, Truckee was cool and sunny. We did a hike beside the Truckee River which flows out of Lake Tahoe north to Truckee and then on to Reno and to Pyramid lake where the water evaporates. Our start was Squaw creek, at the entrance to Squaw Valley ski area. We set off at about 11 with our destination being lunch in Tahoe City. We got there about 1:30 for sandwiches and a break. Then back onto the return on the bike/hike trail. Sure, we walked slowly, but we moved steadily along. The day's total was a little over 10 miles. Not bad for an 80 year old and not bad for Jan. It's the longest hike either have done in a long time, but both regularly hike. Tomorrow might be boating, but Jan wants to go to a beach center where she can sign out a basketball and work on her shots. Maybe only us old people will go paddling. Life is good!
