Like Will, the Acres event was like a holiday for Wayne and I. It was our first

time and we took in as much as humanly possible. We talked with so many people,

made so many new friends and took in so much information that our heads are

still spinning trying to absorb it all :) We've very thankful that we brought

home audio tapes so we can refer back to everything and absorb even more.

One thing that would have added to the Seminars and Workshops would have been

printouts from each one. Many times we couldn't write fast enough to take the

notes we wanted, and now that we're home we're trying to make sense of our

chicken scratch notes. It would be nice to have printouts to follow along with.

Food was a big issue for us! Though we brought along many good foods from home,

it would have been nice to have alternative choices from the traditional (very

expensive and dead) motel restaurant. Wayne and I did enjoy the spontaneous TF

buffet Friday night. We happened to notice a few people walking by that must

have thought we were all drunk by the looks on their faces. I suppose it would

appear that we were drinking, but it was all the good - life giving food that

energized us so! It was an evening to remember of good food, good people and

lively conversation.

We got home late Saturday evening and spent Sunday trying to re-coup. Today

we're ready to tackle the world again as we feel recharged and ready to take on

any challenges that come our way. It's amazing how a group of people brought

together like at the ACRES conference can make you feel " not so alone " . The

support and encouragement we received was phenomenal! The learning never ends,

but it's so much more effective when it's shared with those of like mind.

We're already making plans to attend the next conference and encourage everyone

that missed this one to do the same. But more importantly, subscribe to the

ACRES newspaper so you don't miss a thing in the meantime!!!

I agree with Janet & Wayne about the notes. There was so much info given in

so little time. My head is still swimming. I went to the conference by

myself and loved talking to so many like minded people. But I also wished my

husband could have been there too to share it with. We couldn't afford 2

passes and a babysitter for 3 days.

I was amazed to find so many pro raw milk people under one roof!

I also agree with Will that it was very inspiring and energizing!!

JANET,

By the way.... I spoke with ( Walters)? after Jerry's Cancer...

presentation. He said that they (ACRES) were hoping to have a video tape

based on that presentation, in about a month. In the mean time, we could

reference the 5,000 word written interview from the ACRES archives online,

that has most of the same info. This might help decipher some of your notes.

Thanks Therese! I do have this article, but had forgotten all about it. I just

now dug it out again and actually learned so much more reading it this time than

the first. I suppose because Jerry covered so much during his talk.

I have a few friends (and family) that must view this video when it comes out.

I'll be watching for it!

For my part, I attended Sally's lecture on Wed. and it was excellent.

She did cover a lot of things I had read before, but the pictures,

the charts, the anecdotes, and the expertise were outstanding. It

really kick started me into being more daring with the recipes, and

renewed my resolve to avoid denatured foods, even if makes socializing

harder.

How ironic after years of being a vegetarian and getting sardonic

looks from meat-eaters, it's now cool to be vegetarian and I get

looked down on for eating red meat. Whatever...

Oh and , the kefir grains you gave me at Sally's seminar are

extremely active. :o) They turn that milk into kefir in no time flat.

Thanks again!

Glad you all were so fulfilled with the conference. Although it sounds as if the

ACRES organization needs to find a way to break out of the traditional

conference venue and meals. Maybe they need to consider a different type of

location and a good caterer. I have been thinking of starting a catering

business! :D

Hey!

If you ever do start a catering business, I'd hire you!!!!! Do not have a

need for a caterer right now but if I did, you'd be the first I'd call.
