Guest guest
Hello fellow Vitamix Enthusiasts;I recently joined this group (you are a fun bunch) and today I received my refurbished (new to me) Vita Mix in the mail. It came much sooner than I expected.I am so excited! I am going to clean the kitchen and then make my first recipe in my new gift!Any suggestions on what I should make first? This is such a momentous occasion, I cannot make just any old recipe! We like smoothies, ice cream and soups (actually, we love food).Holly
Guest guest
Welcome Holly! Congratulations on your new treasure! I rarely use a recipe for smoothies - I just throw things in, but have you seen Lea Ann's recipes? They all sound great. Enjoy! Guest guest
Thanks for responding ;This is a great group! I have looked at Lea Ann's page. Isn't she the greatest? Lots of great information. That recipe for the frozen yogurt sounds delicious (from Lea Ann)The first recipe I tried, (while waiting for my long-suffering husband to come home from the health food store with my kale, parsley, etc) is the Iced Cappuccino recipe in the Vitamix cookbook. mmmm mmmmm mmmm! It was so smooth and creamy, not icey as when I use my magic bullet (which I still love and will still use). And only 120 calories! Yum.Iced Cappuccino1 c milk (I used 1% milk but I intend to use non-fat milk in the future)1/2 crushed iceA couple of squirts of liquid stevia2 tsp instant coffee crystals.Blend on variable, start at 1 >>10 (for 10 to 15 seconds)I got confused and blended it for 30 seconds because I was looking at the recipe on the page above. This came out so rich and creamy.... WAY WAY better than Starbucks!================================> > > Welcome Holly! Congratulations on your new treasure!
