Need advice on new glasses

After many visits to the opthamologist and attempting to convince him something

was wrong with Sam's vision I found one who listened and took time to evaluate

Sam. It took 2 hours to get the exam done, but Sam was VERY cooperative

considering.

I ordered glasses and they will be here next week - Now the REAL challenge

begins, getting him to cooperate. He is 5 and has serious sensory issues around

his face and head. I can get him to wear his bike helmet but only if we start

riding as soon as I get it strapped on. Even then as soon as we stop he cries

and tries to pull it off.

Any suggestions are appreciated. I have some ideas, but would love to hear your

experiences.

Thanks

Barb - mom to Sam (5ds), (12hormonal) and (10hormanal). :-)

One of my kids started wearing glasses at age 4. They insisted he have the

kind with the bendy wire loop around the ears to hold them on because he was

so young and because he had " no nose " to hold them up. They bothered his

ears and he constantly tugged at them and broke the ear piece off. He is now

8 years old and we finally switched to the normal ear piece. He wears them

well and we have no problems.
