Guest guest
Gaby has came out surgery and I am so proud of her. The surgeon said her lungs were better then he thought although they do have some muscle buildup from closing and opening so much. We will have to keep her on the medication she has been on. They closed 3 holes and found a fourth very small hole that they left open. The surgeon said that this surgery should've been done when she was 3 months old before the damage to her lungs could start. He was upset that Gaby was 3 years old and had to live with these 3 large holes for so long. We explained to him what happened in Lafayette. Gaby actually looks great with wonderful color but she is still in the ICU on the breathing machine. They are slowly getting her off of it and she is doing good. She was very restless yesterday. The nurse and another mom told me that Gaby actually sat up in her bed and was looking out the window. They were both very surprised and the nurse layed her back down. Then she tried to pull her tubes out several times so they tied her hands down. I told them to tie her legs down because she can reach her face with her legs but the nurses just laughed. After Gaby pulled up her feet and almost pulled out her tubes with her toes is when the nurse decided to tie down her legs as well. I asked them to give her extra pain medication because she takes alot to feel the affect. After Gaby tried to cry and became very upset they gave extra meds to calm her down. There was another baby in the room that was making alot of noise and the nurses thought that perhaps this was disturbing Gaby although I doubt that since she 7 siblings and is use to noise. Gaby was moved to a private room to help her rest. After that she was still really restless and trying to move around alot. They gave her some pedicare through a tube in case she was hungry and mybe that was why she seemed uncomfortable. I asked them to give her more meds to calm her. It seems like alot but for her it isn't. They listened and gave her more. After she calmed down and was comfortable I decided to go home for the night. Hopefully her breathing tube can come out today. Thanks for listening. Please pray for Gabys recovery. She was waving bye-bye last night so I know she wants to go home.
