I freeze a paste of baking soda, food grade peroxide and fresh lemon in ice cube trays. When the VM needs a thorough cleaning, I buzz up some of the cubes, and run it until the mixture is hot, then let it soak. I use an electric toothbrush (disposable one from walmart-about 5 buck, purchased just for kitchen use) to scrub down the inside, then I rinse it well. You might need to do this several times to get off built up residue. I keep the cubes on hand at all times, and will run a couple through IMMEDIATELY after juicing or blending something which might stain. From: Marcia <marcia@...>Subject:

how to take stain from the vitamix container? Date: Monday, August 29, 2011, 10:57 AM

I have my vitamix for now more than 2 years, almost 3!

As i prepare not only smoothies - i had been on a juice fasting for 72 days once, than 40 days with my husband in another time - only veggies juice that i was preparing on the vitamix and straining it on a nut milk bag - my container is like with stains - dark, i would describe as a carrot stain!

How can i clean it?

Also in the metal that cut all - when blending - has stains! Dark stains!

I am just wondering why.....

Scrubbing with a wet paper towel dipped in dry baking soda is another good way to remove film. You will know when the film is off of the container when the brown/yucky no longer comes off onto the white paper towel!
