Guest guest
http://benefitofmanukahoney.com/ I am a bit familar with raw local honey, but this was the latest rage at the home show. Claims to have major healing properties. Anyone have more knowledge.

Guest guest
I have tried for twenty years to capture it, but in those twenty years have only had the pleasure of seeing it myself twice! The bees swarm when they are ready...not when I am, lol. Guest guest
Hi That link wouldn't work for me either when I tried it just now from my email, but i noticed the end bit 'p-44005.html' got missed in the hyperlink below. I just tried copying and pasting that bit onto the end of what came up in the browser. If that doesn't make sense, just go to their website, and follow this path from the menu on the left hand side of the page:Functional foodsComvitaWound Care Cream 18+ 60 grams There was a leaflet in the package, but i'm not sure where it is (I'm moving house soon and in the midst of packing). If i can find it tomorrow I will email it to you (it's midnight here now). I honestly can't think of any drawbacks - it was only a good thing for me for both wounds. I changed the dressing daily, and the easiest way to do it was to dab a bit on the bandage, then place that directly on the wound. Even though they call it cream, it is actually honey and is sticky as honey always is, so need the bandaid/bandage, which of course you will have anyway. Many of the manuka honeys on the market have a much lower UMF than this particular product, which has UMF of 18 - that's the active manuka factor which does the magic. The same company (Comvita) also makes a product called medihoney, but I don't think it's specifically manuka honey in that, and I couldn't be sure the effect would be the same. I found it on another couple of websites in the US and canada:http://www.abacohealth.com/index.php/prodid/COM003http://www.lifepluspharmacy.com/productinfo/Comvita_Woundcare_18plus_60g I'll see what i can dig up anyway.cheers jane On 12/09/2011, at 9:33 PM, wrote: Jane, The link you provided for the manuka honey won't open. I'm curious as to any drawbacks to using this honey for wound care. I'm scheduled for a surgical procedure next week to have a skin cancer removed from the center of my forehead. I doubt that my surgeon would recommend using manuka honey afterward. Do you know if it is immediately applied to the surgical site? How often is it applied? Actually, any information you could provide would be very welcome.
