Guest guest
Hi all, I just mixed up some natural " Off " per Will Winter's recipe. I was unable to find any citronella oil so I just used a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil (that I had lying around from when I had made baby wipes- those were good!). Hopefully that will do the trick. But still I'm interested in finding a source of citronella oil in town if at all possible. Do share if you know! If I have no choice, I may have to mail order some and pay some shipping costs that way- ugh. A friend suggested a pet store, would that be a source of quality citronella oil? Thanks! Guest guest
Sara I wouldn't buy much of anything from the local pet stores especially the big box retail stores. Not much quality. Someone should open a NATURAL pet store. I bet it would work. I'd get the CITRONELLA OIL from a real herb shop (Tao, Sassefras, Present Moment or others) or even Whole Foods sells it. A lot of garden stores sell it as well but I can't attest to the quality. For now, your eucalyptus oil should do the trick. Eat your garlic as well. Guest guest
I've looked in Whole Foods. NO Citronella! I've looked high and low, but guess I'll have to look even higher and even lower...LOL. If nothing else, I can always ask my NFS to order it..if they already have essential oils, not a problem to add one specific one to make a certain member happier. ;-) I guess I was a bit confused there...thinking oil of citronella is different than citronella essential oil. Me wrongo there. Duh me! Personally I am NOT touching mineral oil even with a ten foot pole. It's derived from petroleum. Eww, I think I'll pass (for life! ;-) Thanks for the help! I just don't know about the garlic though....it would drive DH from my/the bed! ROTFL! Sara Sara I wouldn't buy much of anything from the local pet stores especially the big box retail stores.
