Thanks for the positive encourragement, it means alot, you know sometimes you

just get a bit discourraged.

The device. Is about the size of a lunch box, but thin, less than 2 inches. It's

electronic and touch screen. there is the capacity to make 4,000. pages of

information. Drew is in the 8th grade. Although he is in non verbal he

understands everything. So we needed the machine that had the ability to help

him now and grow with him as he learns to use it and to communicate better and

develope more vocabulary as well as the ability to use it at school, in speech

and for home use. This machine can not be replaced by insurance for 5 years. so

we need the most versitale for the age and moderate ability he has now, but

expandable hopefully for what he can learn. For instance you can make a section

of pages for sports, relating to special things that you do, like boy scouts.

the teacher can add pages that relate to a social activity or to a school

related project. A page dedicated to fast food places so he can go to the

counter at mc donalds and order his own food completely independantly.

You can use many different ways to say hello, for instance, so that when Drew

is talking to someone, say, a girl, he can modify the way he greets her, he can

say Hi, Or use a more flrty, Hi there;. silly things that we who speak and have

always spoken can take for granted. and subtle ways that we all use speech to

relay our personality.

Thats the nut shell expanation of what it is, I am going to stick my guns and

jump thru all the hoops and by cracky my sons going to get a voice. lol,
