Guest guest
Dawn, I think it's all mental focus. You just have to WANT it more than you want that piece of candy or that piece of chocolate. Eating healthy is at least 75% of the equation. You just have to DO IT. I use sugar free treats to combat cravings and hot tea with equal/splenda helps. Dani > Why is it so difficult for me to eat healthy on this challenge? Guest guest
Detour bars. Detour bars. Detour bars...say it with me...Detour bars... --- > > Try to get some protein bars. Some of them are pretty good, it's no Snickers bar, but it might help. I actually bought a variety of them today. I will let you know if any of them are especially yummy. > >removed]
Guest guest
I had a major major nearly painful craving for chocolate a during week 2. I got myself some unsweetened cocoa powder, mixed it with a bit of splenda and some boiling water. Voila! Instant hot cocoa! It didnt taste super, but it killed my chocolate craving Its not " authorized " as far as I know, but I am sure that a small cup of homade sugarfree cocoa is far far better than me losing it and eating a candy bar I guess my advice is this: Have a plan. If you crave hard candy (lifesavers etc) buy a bit of sugar free stuff for those times when you are about to crack. Its not authorized, but its a damn sight closer to plan than a tin of caramels If you crave potato chips, use your carb serving to make your own Spray a sheet of baking paper or a teflon baking pan with nonstick spray, slice a potato really thinly (2-3mm slices, like chips). lay them on the baking paper. spray with the nonstick spray. Top with your favorite seasonings (i use onion and garlic powder) and but in the oven to broil slowly until they are cooked and a bit crispy (watch so that they dont burn). It IS a big adjustment to make, but just having a backup plan is what keeps me on track. To date (week 3 nearly complete) I've had to use it only twice. The cocoa and a ff/sf wine gum (yep, just one!). The longer you eat clean, the easier it gets Also a lot of ppl write down what they crave to enjoy on freeday so they dont miss out Hope this helps! Guest guest
Thanks so much for everyone that responded!! It really helps alot to know you've all been through this too and to know that in the future things WILL get better even though I'm having a hard time grasping the " healthy eating " part right now. Even though I am at least eating a lot healthier than I normall did when I wasn't doing BFL. But, I have a question...what are " detour bars " that a couple of you mentioned. What do they do and where can I get them!? I've never heard of them but am willing to give them a try. Thanks for all your ideas, girls!! =) > > Why is it so difficult for me to eat healthy on this challenge?
