Guest guest
Newbie Amy, awaiting casting I'm getting very frustrated by what seemed to be a simple process. We are still waiting for the prescrip. and letter of medical necessity from our ped. We saw him on Mon. and by Fri. still no letter. He is willing to do it, but seems cautious of the proper wording and suspicious that Cranial Tech. wants all the info. sent directly to them. He is used to going to the ins. co. directly for pre-auth. I even had CT call his office on Fri. to explain that things would go quickly with less coordination if sent to them. Now CT says that if they don't get the letter by noon on Mon. we may have to postpone our 5/29 casting date! They've advised us to wait for approval since AEtna may deny the claim completely or " fine " us $500.00 plus for not waiting for pre-auth! (AEtna should pay 80%- remember, we are talking 2 bands here) I am convinced that we should proceed and keep our 5/29 casting date with or without insurance. My thought is we can always fight them later. Is this normal to have things move so slowly? Amy will be 13 mo. by the time she actually gets her band. I would also like to see if we can pay extra to CT for rush service. Ellen, mom to Amy Bridgeton, NJ ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
