Hi there.  I thought I would mention something that could actually make dining

out affordable.  Honestly, when I first heard about this, I thought it was a

ripoff, or there must be a catch, but I used a certificate from this place

Thursday with no problem.

restaurant.com (also restaurants.com will bring up the site) sells gift

certificates to certain restaurants all over the country at discounted prices.

Generally they sell $25 gift certificates for $10, and there is always a minimum

you have to spend- to use a $25 gift certificate, you have to spend $35, $45, or

$50, depending on the restaurant, so the meal winds up costing you $10, $20, or

$25.  Pretty good, but the really amazing part of the deal at restaurant.com is

they periodically have sales of 70-80% off, so instead, the $25 gift certificate

only costs you $2 or $3.00.  I have no idea why restaurants would do this, or

how it works; I just know it does, because the $25 gift certificate I spent

Thurs night had only cost me $2!  In fact, even though the certificate I had

said you could only use 1 such gift certificate for the meal, the restaurant

told me you could use 1 per 2 people if you wanted.

THE CURRENT COUPON CODE TO GET 80% OFF IS " INDULGE " .  THIS CODE IS GOOD UNTIL

1/18, I THINK.  I just bought $175.00 worth of gift certificates to restaurants

I like, for $14.00.

I thought maybe they only have these sales around Christmas, but I have gotten

several emails from the site since then with 70 or 80% off, so apparently, they

do them pretty often, maybe even weekly?

Also, since I first signed up in December, they have added several other good

restaurants in my area, including The Melting Pot (which normally is around $50

for 2, so this way, it becomes $27 for 2, much better).  There are a variety of

restaurant types, from cheap mexican and sekeisui, to some pretty high end

restaurants.

Anyway, thought I would share, now that I know it actually works.

Amy
