Looking to Help an Awesome Kid Connect

Hi everyone - I'm , Mom to Jimmy (18, DS-ASD) - a frequent lurker, very

occasional poster. I am looking to help an awesome friend of my daughter's

connect with a family/families in the Buffalo NY area. He is a junior in high

school, works as a camp counselor in the summer, is fun, enthusiastic, and

responsible, and is very interested in connecting with families that need a

sitter or respite person. I tried hooking him up with several different parent

groups, but that didn't really go anywhere. So....if there is anyone on this

list that lives in Buffalo and wants a buddy for their child with Down syndrome,

please get in touch with me and I'll hook you right up! I would think that this

would be especially great for boys with DS - it's rare to find a good guy

peer/role model for this kind of activity. (at least in my experience it

is....) Jimmy LOVES this kid - and he's a very good judge of character!
