Guest guest
Hey I have both a WaveRider Jr. 2 channels, and a Brainmaster (It’s a 1.9) 2 channels. I don’t know much about the Brainmaster 2.0 software or the new graphing and HEG capabilities. Originally I enjoyed the WaveRider because in a past life I used to be a musician, and I found the MIDI sounds on the WaveRider more pleasing than those on the 1.9. Some of the clients would respond to “creating a brain song” using WaveWare and CEO. Others preferred Brainman (pacman). On the whole, however, I think BioExplorer has leveled the playing field. Some folks in Charlottesville accuse me of “liking gadgets” J and I plead guilty to that, I guess. I find BEx and Pete’s protocols to be much easier than WaveWare, or Brainmaster software. The WaveRider Pro has 4 channels, comparable in price with Brainmaster 2.0). I can’t imagine training 4 sites at once, (yet, that is...), but I believe Brainmaster and WaveRider Jr. are quality machines. The only significant difference I’d see is that if you use the software that accompanies the machine, Brainmaster might have a smaller learning curve. I never felt very capable of building protocols in WaveWare and depended a lot on ’s (Mercado Van Deusen) packaged protocols and manual. But for my own personal training the sounds of the WaveRider were far superior which made it easier for me to discipline myself to train. Not sure this has helped you make suggestions to your colleague. Pete, , Tom and Larry have a much better understanding of the technical aspects of the machines. Good luck! Guest guest
, If someone is starting out in the field and will be learning new software, I would not recommend learning two softwares. BioExplorer combines the best of what WaveWare offers without many of its limitations, and the best of what BrainMaster offers. If a trainer intends to learn BioExplorer, I'd seriously consider getting the least expensive Brainmaster or WaveRider and just focus on using the hardware. There is also the Abayamudra as an option. For someone who already knows one software, learning a second is like learning a second language. For a newbie, whichever one you learn first is easiest. My two-cents worth. Let me know what she decides. I'll be happy to help get any of the above packages and help you get her started. Pete BMr or Waverider Jr? I am helping a fellow therapist get started in neurofeedback. She will be using it professionally, not just on herself. I'm inclined to advise her to purchase Brainmaster 2.0, plus BioExplorer....but I'm wondering if WaveRider Jr would also be a good option. Brainmaster has such good support, plus I know the software inside-out. I don't know much about WaveRider Jr except that it has the GSR as well as EEG. I'm just learning BioExplorer....and even for someone like me who has been doing the NF for several years, its still quite a learning curve (even with Pete's protocols!). I'm not inclined to tell a newbie to start with BioExplorer. Brainmaster will be so much easier to start with, then add BioExplorer. What do other therapists think? Do you advise newbies to get a BMr or a WaveRider? Thanks!!
Guest guest
Hi Pete, What is the "Abayamudra"? I did a search and it came up as a Buddhist statue. What is the connection here? Guest guest
, Try Abhaymudra or Pocket-Neurobics...but their website is hard to read. Rosemary H. BMr or Waverider Jr? Guest guest
Abayamudra is often known as the Pocket-Neurobics unit. It is a 2-channel EEG machine with most of the hardware for HEG (blood-flow training) built in, which is a little larger than a pack of cigarettes (if you remember those) and can operate completely freestanding (not connected to a computer) with its own software and gameboy-like display, or which can be used to drive BioExplorer on a computer. It, BrainMaster and WaveRider are the major players which support BioExplorer software. If you want to learn more about the unit, go to http://www.pocket-neurobics.com. I need to mention that I do distribute (and thus offer discounts to list members on) all three of these units and BioExplorer software. That can be read as indicating that I am biased toward them, or it can suggest that I use and impressed with all of them. Pete Re: BMr or Waverider Jr? Hi Pete, What is the "Abayamudra"?
