Butch, you WILL NOT wear out your welcome here. We're all here to Bi--- about some aspect of this dang disease. That's what the group is for---to give the best info available on HepC and to give as much emotional support that we can. We've all had to battle some how or other.

It took my about 2 years, I think to get my disability in place. I went to a lawyer right off and willingly paid her fee when it was over. I started trying myself, but the bearuacracy that handles that sort of thing is a mindless machine. NO human feeling or interaction at all. The lawyer was well worth her fee. I also got back pay for allll the months of waiting while the machine churned my case out, which was a great bonus.

Last Thursday we had to put our cat, Butch down. He had cancer of the liver and

in 1 1/2 months had lost 1/2 his body weight. You could feel every bone in his

body. I tried to hold off but he was suffering, his urine was a vary dark burnt

orange color........he just laid around, could barely walk and had stopped

eating...... anyway.....Nic keeps looking for him and asking about him. I tell

him Butch was sick. Nic said take to Dr., I say we did but Dr couldn't make him

better. Finally I told him " Butch died " . He yells " NO! " and continues to look

for him. I don't know what else to tell him....

Di, I am so sorry to hear this. We have 2 cats too, and I am sure Olivia doesn't

understand death, and I don't know how she would react if one of these guys were

to suddenly not be here. I hope Nic gets better with time.

yesterday morning we came down stairs and in the dim light he thought he saw

Butch (it was really his tshirt he left lying on the floor. Hey ran over,

made an excited gasp (like, there you are) then when he realized it wasn't

him, he was sad. I said, " Nic, Butch is not coming home " and he yelled at

me so I guess he is entering the anger stage.
