Guest guest
have you looked at writing without tears? I have had friends that used it and loved it! What state are you in? Amy Hi Amy. I cannot remember if I wrote back regarding this suggestion. YES. I used HWT with all of my children. It is what I suggested they use with Alden at this school. They said that they would, but it doesn't matter now because I pulled him. We are in Texas, on the border in El Paso. From what I can gather, it is a world of difference here... even from Austin. I have friends in the San area and also near Dallas/Houston areas plus a home school friend in Katy. Those areas cannot be compared to El Paso as here, it is VERY different. I use the Writing Road to Reading and HWT. I have lots of stuff here, so I don't really have to purchase anything right now. If I continue to keep him home, I might try Math U See with him at some point, but right now I just use what I have. Lots of manipulative objects, counting, skip counting, etc. Adding/subtracting. I also have Ray's arithmetic which I still use to check the girls ability, even though they are in public school. I pretty much have taught at home with the Well Trained Mind concepts. We still like to review History in this way. I am sure that my girls have a better grasp of History since we home schooled through all 4 books. They are wonderful, even if your children are in PS/private. I have sort of given Alden a break and we are taking it slowly this first week or so. As I dig stuff out, reorganize, etc., I will get him into a routine. Thanks! Kiersten
Guest guest
At school Jasmine is working on learning how to count by 5's and 10's, etc. so she can count money. Does anyone have a good method to teach this? I have done a lot of teaching her at home, even though she is in public school. Mostly reading. I don't mind doing the work at home if it helps her to be able to count her money. Also, is HWT for cursive writing, or printing? Toni In a message dated 10/11/2009 10:49:34 A.M.
