Guest guest
When there is no accountability through competition, only excess, fraud and corruption get through eventually. In a free market world, communication devices for special needs kiddos would continue to evolve to be smaller and more effective. Guest guest
Yeah I know it doesn't figure, I'm trying to get my budget to pay for it but I am hitting major roadblocks, the insurance will glady fork out over $3000 for a different version that is just a chat box but they won't pay for this, it is starting to frustrate me!! interesting.... Guest guest
Here's an odd thought. What if you were to take both devices to your state senator's office with the invoice/bill/reciept and have a chat with them about which is the most cost-effective option minus the hangup about the other apps? I wonder what would happen. Remember the $800 toilet seat blow-up? Marcia ; lisa90@...; kiersten5560@...; collarbone@... From: melanie@... Guest guest
I think it's a great idea. If I get the itouch for Caty, she already has a VAntage lite (after much red tape and her SLP going beyond the call of duty). I know a state senator and will show him both and explain. Great idea, especially if everyone did it. The only thing is: can STATE legislature really do anything or would it have to b e at the federal level? ---- Marcia Loomas <mloomas@...> wrote: > > Here's an odd thought. Guest guest
I would hope your State Senator would have staff still in the state even if they are in DC. My personal belief is to try anyone and anything. I always ask the question since you have a 50/50 chance of getting an answer. You could also look into ARC or your county DD program for contact directly to the state people or your state school department/health and human resources. Just go up the chain. I figure the worst thing that can happen is you learn aquire contacts for possible issues later on. Building a network is always a good thing. collarbone@...; melanie@...; mloomas@...; kiersten5560@...; From: lisa90@... Date: Thu, 1 Oct 2009 10:58:38 -0500 Subject: RE: interesting....
