Guest guest
My experience has been that insurance companies tell doctors 'what they will pay' according to the policies we (or employers) choose. We are able (so far) to hire a doctor to do a service, just like we can hire household help or any other service. I hope we can continue to have a free market society, but that is opposed to what the current 'powers that be' want. I've read speeches given by those who want to control costs by using abortion to eliminate babies/children who have problems like DS and other more serious problems. It is a sad day in America when we start down this slippery slope. This is an important issue to parents of children with DS when those who are looking to pay for this new program do not value the lives of our 'special' children.
