Guest guest
Hey good evening, I too have used Betagen and gotten very bloated after using it. I however will be taking it again during this BFL round because I notice a big difference in my muscle soreness. When I don't take it I am a wreck for days. When taking it i am still sore but am able to do my job. I think it's just a personal decision. I don't think you have to " wean " yourself off of it. As for the weight going back up forget about it. Throw away your scale. When you first begin a new weight program you will probably see a drop in weight first then you may level off and then actually start to gain weight (scale). This is not bad!!! You may lose alot of water weight at first. As you begin to build muscla you will lose fat but gain lean muscle. Muscle weighs more so the scale may stay steady or as in my case it goes up a bit. All I can say is go by your clothes, your feelings, and energy levels. yeah that said for the first couple weeks you may feel a bit drained but after awhile you will have more energy. Once those endorphins start to rev after a workout you should notice more energy. Well hope you sort out your Betagen dilema. Tam
Guest guest
Hi Kimmah! How much are you taking every day? Are you taking it on your free days? When are you taking it? How are you taking it--what are you mixing it with? There are people who just can't tolerate it, although I don't think that happens very often. Are other parts of your body swollen (like your fingers, eyelids, ankles)? Do you have stomach upset immediately after taking it? I've found that I have to take it mixed in a big bottle of water (like 24oz) and keep shaking it while I'm drinking it. That way it gets into my stomach in a steady stream, not a big dollop of it. You certainly don't need creatine to have great results. If you decide to stop taking it, you don't need to wean yourself off of it. Guest guest
Maggie already asked all the questions I was going to. :-) When I start taking creatine I can see visible changes within a week. My muscles look more pumped and defined in just a few days. The strength gains take a little longer. If you're not loading it, your muscles won't be fully saturated for a few weeks. I always gain 5 pounds the week I start taking creatine. No biggie though. It's lean mass, so I know my percentage of body fat just jumped DOWN. I know I'm going to have better workouts, faster recovery, easier fat loss, and better looking muscles. That makes up for my momentary horror at seeing the scale turn around. Before giving up on it, you might want to try taking it less often. Like only one serving a day, or only on weight days. You might be able to get some of the benefits without any of the bloating. If it makes you uncomfortable, you can just stop taking it though. No weaning necessary. Should I stop with the Betagen? Hey all- I have a question and I'd like some opinions here. I started taking Betagen last week. I drink ALOT of water all day too. (I have a big 34oz jug I drink out of with all my meals and sometimes extra) Anyhoo, ok, I KNOW I KNOW that you gain weight with the betagen. I've tried to not let that bug me. But I weighed this AM and I'm back up to where I was BEFORE I started BFL. I had lost 6 lbs so far and now have it all back. But.... how long can I wait to " SEE " results of the betagen? I know its only been a week, but I haven't noticed any more strength or less soreness afterwards. I think I want to stop taking it though. Plus everytime after I eat or drink, my stomach gets all bloated. Its never done that before. Can I just STOP taking the betagen or do I have to " WEAN " myself off of it or what? I build muscle VERY easily, so I am wondering if I just don't even need it? Please help! ~kimmah
Guest guest
Hey Maggie- I'm taking 2 servings a day. ONce in the AM one hour after I work out, and then before I go to bed. I'm just drinking it with water and I chug it real fast. Then after reading alot of people on here saying to make sure you drink alot of water, I'm doing that too. Like 6-8 34oz cups of water through the day, and not on my free day.... Nothing else is swollen, JUST my stomach ALL day and noticablly bloated after EVERY meal and drink. It's really weird. I didn't know if its just not for me or what. My husbands taking Phosphagen and having really good results, and thats like I think 5mg of creatine per serving plus a ton of carbs, but I figured I could use the betagen since it was less, and I didn't take 3 svgs a day I'd be okay. But the stomach bloat is bugging me. I didn't know if that was normal or what but I like to be able to attempt to suck in my gut (LOL) and have it go away... I can't now... sucking doesn't help.. LOL ~kimmah Re: Should I stop with the Betagen? Hi Kimmah! How much are you taking every day? Are you taking it on your free days? When are you taking it? Guest guest
Thanks for the advice! I think I will try just maybe doing one serving only on my weight days. I honestly haven't seen any more definition, I have been upping my weights every workout now and like I said its not like I'm any less sore afterwards KWIM? Well, I am going to try this week just doing it one svg a day on weight days. I did notice when I did my fat calipers that according to a certain online calculator it said I gained like 5 pounds of lean mass, which I'm not complaining about, but its that bloating... I feel like a fat beer belly guy... LOL Well, I'll try it and let y'all know how it goes. Thanks! ~kimmah Should I stop with the Betagen? Hey all- I have a question and I'd like some opinions here. Guest guest
Well, it doesn't sound like you can't tolerate it, just that you might want to try drinking it more slowly or cutting back to one serving a day for a little while. I know that when I first started taking it, I would mix it in a shallow glass of water, maybe a cup and drink it really quickly--it made me bloated and made my stomach hurt pretty badly for an hour or two. I started scooping it into a 24oz water bottle and filling it up the whole way, shaking it up while I counted to 60, and then drinking it slow and steady, not putting the bottle down until it was empty but not chugging it either. That made a world of difference. I read somewhere that if you let a big glug of creatine sit in your stomach, you'll either get really bad diarrhea or bloat up to high heaven. Guest guest
Okay then! That makes sense... Because I would do like you said just making it with the 4 oz of water and chuggin it. Okay, then I'll cut back to once a day with more water and take my time with it. THANK YOU!!!! ~kimmah Re: Should I stop with the Betagen?
