New Member, Introducing Myself

Hello,

I just joined the group today. I am in my second trimester (fourth pregnancy)

and after taking the cvs test this week we found out that our son has Down

Syndrome. I am due in September. I hope it doesn't sound strange, but the news

came as a relief because we were told before the test that it was just as likely

that our child had Trisomy 18. Our first baby died from anencephaly, so we

couldn't imagine another loss and were relieved to hear that it was instead

Trisomy 21.

I have a special ed degree and 8 years of teaching experience working with many

children with DS. It is a strange feeling for me to now be on the parent end of

things.

I am hoping this group will be a support and help as I come up with questions

before and after my son Henry is born.
