MEDICATIONS I am taking these medications: Inspra 200 mg Cymbalta 30 mg Cardura 1 mg Lipitor 10 mg Tricor 145 mg Omacor 1 gram Multivitamin Coenzyme Q10 50 mg Aciphex 20 mg Konsyl 6 grams BLOOD TESTS 10/29/07 Aldosterone 31 upright (7-30) (not salt loaded) Renin PRA 0.2 (0.5 - 4.0) Potassium 4.0 (3.6-5.4) Glucose 82 (65-110) Insulin 6 (5-27) Hemoglobin A1C 5.6 (4.4-5.9) Free T3 Index 90 (78-162) Free T4 Index 6.0 (4.5-10.5) TSH 2.4 (0.3 - 4.7) Testosterone 385 (200-1000) Testosterone, Bioavailable 315 (94 - 285) Sex Hormone Globulin Binding 34 (20-60) Bioavailable Testosterone 50.9% LH 2.3 (2-12) Cholesterol 144 LDL, Cholesterol, Calculated 86 (<100) HDL, Cholesterol 36 (>40) Triglycerides 109 (<150) Non-HDL, Cholesterol, Calculated 108 (<130) Symptoms of HIGH ESTROGEN that I am experiencing: 1. reduced level of testosterone 2. fatigue 3. loss of muscle tone 4. increased body fat 5. no libido and sexual function 6. headache 7. mental depression 8. breast enlargement 9. increased serum triglycerides (if I am not taking Tricor) 10. impaired glucose tolerance 11. carbohydrate intolerance Do you think Inspra at high doses can cause high estrogen levels in men? Do I need these tests? Estradiol and estrone The following initial blood tests are recommended for any man over age 40: Complete blood count and chemistry profile (to include liver-kidney function, glucose, minerals, lipids, thyroid (TSH) etc.) Free and Total Testosterone Estradiol (estrogen) Progesterone DHEA PSA Luteiizing hormone (LH) Homocysteine Please reply.
