Guest guest
I hope you have a better experience than I did. I had purchased some vanilla powder through a co-op. Was very disappointed. It was as if it were very diluted with cornstarch. I thought it would be like the vanilla powder you use in your coffee at Starbucks. No way. Hardly any smell or flavoring. I added a vanilla bean and let it set for awhile. A little better. Anyone know how I can " up " the vanilla? Guest guest
> Hi again! I posted a question awhile back about vanilla powder. Does anyone know exactly what it is? Hi Leanna Vanilla powder is powdered vanilla. It is vanilla that has been dried and then powdered, just like instant coffee. I am looking a jar that I have it is 2 1/2 ounces and the price on it is $3.89. It says it contains Dextrose & Vanilla bean.In the jar it resembles the powdered coffee creamer. Hope this answers your question. Raven
Guest guest
Thanks Raven. Is dextrose a sugar of some kind? Is it the vanilla beans that have been dried and powdered, and then added to the dextrose? By the way, have been using your lotion bars that I made awhile ago. The weather is so dry here and the lotion bar is really helping. And so far, only the first one I used turned grainy, the others have been smooth all the way through. Have a great evening! Guest guest
Hi Leanna, Dextrose is added to keep the vanilla powder free flowing, as it has a tendency to clump. Actually, fructose is added to honey powder for the same reason Well, Naturally http://www.wellnaturally.ca htto://www.wellnaturally.com At 10:47 PM 12/19/2002 -0700, you wrote: >Thanks Raven. Guest guest
, you can purchase it by the pound from San Francisco Herb Company, just type them into a search engine and check their site, they have a lot of dried herbs, spices, and botanicals, as well as essential oils. wrote: I'm having a hard time locating vanilla powder locally, I've checked in 2 of the grocery stores here in the gourmet section and world cuisine section with no luck. I have 8oz of ground vanilla beans, is this the same thing? If not, have any of you purchased it online from a reputable company? Guest guest
thank you! I checked them out and I did a question search and found this site that gives a great explanation about all the differences in vanilla extracts and powders and beans. http://www.vanilla.com/html/facts-extracts.html > > > Date: 2005/04/29 Fri AM 08:39:21 EDT > To: 1Toiletries > Subject: Re: Vanilla Powder > >
Guest guest
I've never used it myself, but I did buy an edible dusting powder for a friend's wedding gift once that had vanilla & honey powder in it. Can't remember what the other ingredients were though. Colleen Handcrafted & Decorative Soaps http://www.countrymeadowcreations.com
Guest guest
Does it get sticky? I had honey powder once but it got humidity in it and got hard as a rock. Have you searched for b & b recipes using it? I know it can be used in food too.
