Hi Beth: Before I sign off, I'll answer this. Not blogging per se, but taking part on forums. I only started my blog in July, but I starting visiting forums and other blogs in June 2005. I wasn't looking to market, I just wanted to see what everyone who loves perfume was into outside of this group. I made friends, swapped some great " regular " perfumes, answered questions about raw aromatics, just generally participated. So, when some of the bloggers I knew and the forum members got samples, well, heck, they wouldn't have known about the samples or my line if they didn't know me! That's when I realized it was a great marketing forum. Andy Tauer recently wrote how his blogging worked this way, too, but he started his blog in June 05 and just commented on other blogs, not so much on forums, as I do. HTH! I already run two (one for general metaphysics, one for essential oils and color therapy), plus I just set up one for ColourWorks. I can get very bogged down in spending time on the computer and not get practical work done (like booking classes, pitching products to spas, etc.). I'm afraid that if I blog, I'll just fall deeper into that hole. Also, when my list members get quiet, I often feel like I'm talking to no one. I like the give and take of answering questions. Yet blogging is being touted as the next business builder. I'm just not sure it's really worth the time or just a trend. That said, what I do really does need larger exposure, especially the color therapy side. That's why I'm wondering if you really feel it's valuable. I never would have thought of tincturing goat hair. That's very creative. Beth -- " Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so.
