I live near Watkins Glen. We have had so much rain lately! We have a dairy

farm. Last night when I went to get the cows out of the pasture (after a

torrential downpour during the middle of the day) the creek I had to go across

had

turned into 3 creeks!!! Some of the cows didn't come over so I had to go a

half mile up the road, go in the upper gate, convince the rest of the cows to

go over the creek (s) and then go back around and get them from the other side

of the creek and up into the barn. I've never seen that much water in our

creek before. My hometown, Windsor, I heard had a dam that was breaking and

causing alot of flooding there. We haven't been able to do any haying for about

3

weeks. I sure hope it stops raining for about 2-3 weeks very soon. I hope

you all are safe and your homes are safe. Marcia

Wow, ! I hope everything dries up there soon. I live in Naples and

we have had the rain but nothing like you guys are seeing. I saw

pictures on the news of Elmira and couldn't believe it! That's not that

far from us! It's amazing how it skipped around. I came home from work

today in another torrential downpour. I sure will be glad when this

weather passes. Stay safe!

I did hear a little about that, . Somehow, we are fortunate here in

Rochester. I certainly hope this stops soon!

Everyone please be safe! I can't believe how much water has been

dumped everywhere recently. I saw a restaurant in Utica fall into a

river or lake on the national news tonight.

We had lots of rain on Monday, and there were quite a few places

flooded, but nothing like what is going on up there.

I hope all of you & your families are safe!!!

Yeah, that was a restaurant in Dolgeville... fell into the West Canada Creek!

Pretty scary when Utica and Binghamton make national news!

Some of the river and road scenes they are showing are very very scary!

Wow ,

I'm feeling guilty because we've had beautiful weather here. Did have a

couple of downpours on Sunday but the rain is gone.

On Sunday, the powers that be did close one lane of the Peace Bridge due to

high water. The rain was strange, a downpour here and a block away just

spritzing.

More rain overnight. The basement looks like it did yesterday AM....sigh...

but, we are only talking inches, not feet like people in the hard hit areas.

And, the driveway is just puddles... albeit BIG puddles! LOL. But I think I

can get to my car without my knee-high rain boots!

We're supposed to get more rain and thunderstorms today.

Man, it's been raining in the Adirondacks all of May and June. I don't

think we've had even 10 days of sun in two months! Today, we are under

a thunderstorm watch until 9:45PM.

I just suggested to hubby yesterday that we should bring the canoe and

kayaks up to the house from the boat shelter! LOL

Enjoy your fine weather!!!

Hi guys

Yup, here I am in " The Mohawk Valley. " It's been awful. The next town

over (Mohawk) a friend of mine and her husband and 1 yr old son had to

be rescued from their house in a buckloader by the village. On the news

they said the Mohawk River hasn't been this high since 1913. We NEVER

have had water in our basement but WE DO NOW!! My basement is broken up

into different rooms. A large family room, a furnace room, a laundry

room and my SOAP ROOM. Well, needless to say it's wet. The family room

is fine but the laundry room (which had dirty clothes on the floor) got

water. The furnace room where I keep all my Xmas boxes, decorations, etc

is WET. My soap room is wet. The floor is tiled but I have an old wool

carpet on top of it for warmth and comfort. I think the water is coming

up thru the floor because it's not coming down the walls. I had boxes

of wrap, gift boxes, shred, etc.sitting on the floor. Luckily I got

them all out before the water got totally thru the cardboard. I don't

know how long it's going to take to get the carpet dry. I tried using

the shopvac and it does suck up the water but I have a feeling I'm

drawing up the water from the ground so it's fruitless.

On top of all of this I'm putting on my daughter's graduation party

Sunday with about 200 people coming. If you have any connections to

" the man above " please say lots of prayers that it doesn't rain. I

rented a 20 x 40 tent with the tables and chairs but there's no way that

that many people will be able to fit underneath it. The garage is going

to have all the food in it so there won't be much room for people

sitting in there. Our inground pool is about an inch from flowing over

and my husband won't backwash it to lower the water until the ground

dries out somewhat. The only stress I DON'T have is that I'm catering

all the food so at least I don't have to cook.

I sooooo wanted to come to the gathering but as I stated before we have

a wedding that day. Every time I read an email about the gathering I

get sad. I could have really used a day away from this house with no

stress. I'll be thinking of you all as I sit at that wedding. I hope

you have great weather for it and be sure to post a lot of pictures like

you did last year!!

Take care

M (in the flooding Mohawk Valley)

Lots of flooding here at Blue Mountain Lake, but nothing like the Mohawk

Valley or Southern Tier!
