RE: SHAYE

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! I had a good day. You know your

getting old when you thought you were a year older than you actually are!!!

LOL But thats a good thing though.

Hubby took a vacation day today, we went for breakfast and some garage

saleing. Found some old small size picture frames for one of my hobbies for

cheep. I was thrilled about that. And hubby found a cane to use when he

gets rid of those crutches.. Its unusal and handcarved with an elephant on

it. Not sure what wood it is. Then in the afternoon I picked my dd up

from school and took her to a dr appt. And to have a little blood drawn

(she has the biggest needle phobia I swear but we got thru it). And then

we ate dinner at " Shaye's Cafe " where they cooked out steak on the grill,

roast potatoes and corn on the cob. yummy. Then of course a very chocolate

cake. Now just recovering from the meal. :). The weather was vry nice

and not rainy like they predicted. So it was a good day. My family bought

me a very cool gift. One of those cool saop cutters from " For Crafts Sake "

Cant wait to make some soap to try it out!!!! I looks like a very nice

thing.

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes guys!!! Your the best!

Hi Shaye

Let us know how that smell-thru shrink wrap works out. The link that

somebody provided last week to a site that carries it I checked out. The

only thing I have a problem with is that it's one huge sheet rolled up,

I believe. I buy pre-made shrink wrap bags that I put my soaps into and

then use my heat sealer to seal/cut. The size I bought I usually get

about 3 bars of soap wrapped with. I save all leftover parts of the bag

in a big coffee can because I get to wrap my guest bar sizes with the

little pieces left over.

RE: Need Demo for the gathering

I dont know about taping unless its on the bottom of a gift basket but I

just came across this mroing sort of a tutorial aobut making bags out of

a

sheet of wrap and then putting a soap in. What I do on like an odd soap

that is not square like a flower or whatever, is seal all openings then

seal

any tips off close as I can to the object. Then starting at the back or

bottom start shrinking then carefully go over the whole thing. Im sure

others do this too.

Shaye

ps. I ordered some smell thru shrink wrap this morning. cant wait to

find

out if you really can smell thru it. LOL

Hey there Shaye

I know sometimes I do get a " pillow " when putting the heat to them and I

do poke a hole in the bottom to relieve it when it happens. And I have

put the heat to ones that have loosened over time but that's only if

they're still in my workshop. I always worry about the ones that are in

the stores. I think if I told the owner to take a hairdryer to them if

they loosen up she'd probably think I was nuts. I just can't figure out

why other products you see in stores shrinkwrapped stay nice and tight.

Are they using a different gauge wrap?

RE: Jeanine

Im not Jeanine, but I'll answer anyways :)(

I think that the soap just shrinks a little . You can just hit it again

with the heat gun to tightn the wrap back up. Poking a hole in thw wrap

just lets the air escape when you first shrink it otherwize you have

sort of

a pillow.

Shaye, have you ever tried any products using natramulse as the

emusifier???? I find it to be a gentler emulsifier for those who have a problem

with

polowax and other e waxes. In my customer base, I have 3 who can not use

products

with e-wax. They respond very well to formulations using natramulse. I've

actually grown to prefer natramulse. Normally, when I make facial care, I use

essential oils or leave unscented, especially if I know I am targeting a

finicky skin goal. Think, I'll need to send you a facial formulation to try out.

It is scented but with Turkish Rose Otto. Huggs, Bekka

No, Natramulse is Quote " INCI: Glyceryl Stearate (and) Cetearyl

Alcohol (and) Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate. This system is based on acyl

lactylates, which are conditioning to both hair and skin. The anionic

lactylates are produced by a reaction between the acyl group of fatty

acids and lactic acid. Lactic acid and fatty acids are natural

moisturizing factor (NMF) constituents that are found in the skin.

The lactylates are excellent viscosity enhancers, stabilizers, and

conditioners. NatraMulseā„¢ is a complete, balanced and highly

desirable emulsification system. When used in lotions and creams, it

will provide a soft, conditioned, talc-like feel to skin. "

It took me a while to find out that E-wax NF are made up of various %

of " cetearyl alcohol and polysorbate-60 " .
