Guest guest
My son would love to have a girlfriend but does not understand the relationship thing ( meeting, dating, etc) and I am just as much in the dark on this one. He is 18 and home schooled so he really does not have the opportunity to meet a lot of people. He is in soccer and bowls but there is usually much youger kids at these events. How can I get him involved in activities more suited for his age group so that he can have the opportunity to meet someone special? Thank you for your help. Guest guest
You should check with your local ARC and see what events they have available. Here they have monthly " socials " and they also have a monthly dance for ages 16 and up. Do you have a down syndrome support group in your area? That would be another good avenue. Or.. LOL.. you can hook up with a nice girl online and have a safe long distance relationship like Maverick and Sara do. I'm not sure how long that will be enough for each of them, but for now, they are fine.
