Sorry to hear that First Health has denied! Jeez - what a bunch of goober!

Once you have the denial in hand you should be able to move ahead if you

wish, however, don't forget that if you get started and the insurance

ultimately denies the claim you will be stuck with the bill. If you can

manage that then I would say go for it! I can't believe your specialist won't

write a letter of medical necessity - what is that all about!! Can you get on

a waiting list for the cranialfacial guy? Maybe you could get in earlier that

way.

Good luck and keep us posted!!

Marci,

Thank you so much for replying. Actually we haven't seen the specialist yet. It is our ped. who will not write another letter. He wants us to see the craniofacial doctor first since we were denied. Hopefully this will work, since CT said the reason we were denied was they just didn't have enough info. How long does it usually take to get a denial letter? it has been. 10 days since CT got the call from insurance.

Thanks,

You should have that letter by now - call and ask for them to send it

immediately. If they say it is " in the mail " ask them to send a duplicate

copy ASAP. Insurance companies are famous for the old " in the mail " line!
