Guest guest
Hello all. I'm , 30 female and have a ? about Conn's. I was told I had hp in Oct 06 after always having normal bp. I was a smoker and followed a high fat low carb diet. I changed nothing and they kept telling me that I had hbp at return visits. It wasnt until April I saw another Dr. and she scared me that I started taking water pills she prescribed me...after 2 weeks on them my bp stayed the same and I ended up in the ER with low potassium. After that I quit smoking and started Atenolol which gave me alot of side effects and I stopped a 20 days ago. So 20 days ago I totally changed my life. I gave up my daily 6 pack of diet pepsi & coffee habit. I started eating fruit(which I never ate before), and I started walking 5 miles every other day. Also started taking vitamins, flax and coconut oil(heard those help with bp). I happy to say my bp is now within this range 120/77-135-88. I also went from 143-136 lbs. The problem i'm having is sometimes I feel like my potassium is low...I have arm muscle weakness like I did last time it dropped. When I have it checked it's normal. Is it possible to bring your bp to normal with life style changes if you truly have Conn's? And also can your potassuim go up and down within a day? Thanks for any help:)
