Hi!

We just got my son's STARband yesterday. Did anyone's child who used

this band get any side effects? Let me know. If your child had TORT

did it make it worse or the same? Anything I should monitor? Please

let me know. Thanks!

Bonnie,

Mainly you will want to monitor for red spots. If you notice any that do not

go away within an hour then the band needs an adjustment. You might also

watch out for heat rash - that sometimes occurs when the baby is first

adjusting to the new body temperature. Of course, monitor closely the

improvement you are seeing (or aren't seeing) because that is really how you

gauge the success of any band or helmet. You know your baby better then

anyone so you are the BEST judge of improvement or lack thereof.

Bonnie,

The only real side effect that the twins had at first was sweating.

But the sweat diminishes in about 2 to 3 weeks, once the body

temperature adjusts to the bands. And like Marci said, watch for any

red spots that don't go away within an hour. Neither one of my twins

were diagnosed with tort, but I do hear that it is normal for there

to be more of a tilt while the child is getting used to wearing the

band. Hope this has helped some!
