Guest guest
Colleen, If you have joined the BrainTrainer list () just go to the Files section, and you can download the latest version of the Issues Checklist. Let me know if you don't have Excel available to open it, and I can fax you a copy if you send me a fax number. OCD is, remember, a Switching problem, so it invariably is a top level problem. You can train it (I usually train with active at the R mastoid crease/reference at Fp1 and ground anywhere, rewarding Lobeta and inhibiting theta and/or high beta). You will almost certainly find underlying issues (depression, anxiety, addictions, or others). It is very important to identify which problem category this client occupies and work on changing that as well as working on the OCD issues. Otherwise you will simply take away the defense and leave the thing being defended out in the open! I'm not sure whether you mean he is repeating some rituals he was given in conventional therapy or repeating the rituals that make up his OCD behavior. In any case, I would recommend that he stop "trying" to do anything during training. Anything he "does" is essentially designed to keep his brain cut off from the feedback you are trying to give it. I would ask him to let his mind be still as much as he can and simply to watch the screen and listen to the feedback. I sent the material on the book off to on 8/23 and haven't heard a word back from him. Also got an interested contact from another person I trained a week or so later, and I've sent it to him as well. Hoping somebody will get back to me. Pete Re: Fall Practicum workshops Hi , I took the class in Cleveland in AUgust of 2002. Anyway wondered if I could get the issues checklist so I could make copies. Also I have an OCD client he is taking conventional therapy while doing EEG, he says that he repeats the conventional rituals while he is hooked up, should he be doing this? And what recommendations do you have for protocols? Hope all is well with you, how is sunny south Florida? So how is your book? Any bites on it? Just wondering.
