Guest guest
Hi everyone, I dont write very often but I really need some suggestiomns and dont know where else to turn. Cant get in to see pediatrition till Nov. First let me give you some background. MY son is 10 yrs old and in a learning center now in jr high ( 5th grade) He has always been in a learning center though I have faught to get him more included. We have not signed the IEP in 2 years due to this fact and I am about to file with the state. Normally he has the same teacher for 2 to 3 yrs so when he moved to Jr high this year he got a new teacher for the first time since 1st grade. We did not know who his teacher was until he came home the fist day of school. There was no meeting at the end of last year. We have had major issues since school has started this year. His old teacher became sick over the summer and passed away last week so we are not able to draw on how she handle the issues with him. Well today He came home and I am informed that he has been suspended for the day tomorrow do to being physical with a student and then with a teacher. He does not have a 1 on 1 ( not that I haven't tried) and is ony in social studies and science inclussion for 15 minutes each per week ( also not what I wanted but took what little I could get. ) He does not have a behavior plan either. I feel that they are singling him out more this year because I havent sigfned the iep. The sped director called and the message just infuuriated me!! " can you please do something to control s behavior " I am so at a loss as to what else to try!!! We have grounded him, taken away tv, video game, ect and he doesnt care... When I ask him why I get I dont know and he shrugs his shoulders. Last week he ran away from the teacher and got all the way outside before they caught him!!! Does anyone have any ideas ?? I am at my wits end and on top of all this I work in another school in town and my husband goes in for heart surgery in 3 weeks AUUGGHH.
