Guest guest
Hi a, I am on Spiro and I also experience a somewhat kind of dull headache. Though I am not sure if it is caused by Spiro or my other med which is a CCB. 2 > > Headaches are a side-effect of Inspra. Guest guest
I would try taking it with meals and see if that helps or makes nausea worse. If your BP has gone up this is the most likely cause of headaches. If you feel puffy and have gained wt then you are eating too much salt that is not yet blocked by Insprsa does. I dont recall if you had been on spiro before this and are changing to Inspra. I am not sure what the chiropractor will add but can't hurt unless he tears your carotid artery during adjustment. Guest guest
I'm having that but its not new for me. For several weeks, on and off, I've been especially having headaches in the frontal area. My eyes feel like they are swollen. I think the Ativan made them worse. I'm going to schedule a chiropractor/massage appointment. My biggest problem right now is the nausea I'm having with Inspra. I'm dropping the dose to 12.5 mg tonight and will see how that does. Is that a side effect that is likely to diminish? Does anyone see any problem taking an anti-nausea OTC med? I'm still trying to understand what's going on. Hope I'm not wearing y'all out. Val From: hyperaldosteronism [mailto:hyperaldosteronism ] On Behalf Of Dave It was the occipital headache that feels like an axe stuck in there, hand tremor, heart dysrhythmia, left chest pain, painful joints, a few hives. Some nausea.
Guest guest
Dave, I may have sounded ungrateful this morning. What I meant to say is - I understand this . now. I didn't before and apparently, for the last six years, my doctors never connected the thiazide to low K, impaired fasting glucose and lipid abnormalities. I am forever grateful for your studied information. Val From: hyperaldosteronism [mailto:hyperaldosteronism ] On Behalf Of Dave ! If you have PA, and use diazide/thiazide (HCTZ, train, etc) it is a wonder you have only nausea and headache. That's mild toxicity for PA. I was stage 4 PA and those nearly killed me with my K levels and LVH - literally. Muscle cramping is the signpost of low K HCTZ use. Those diuretics are like poison to PA pts I have known. The upshot is they do little if anything for BP & K. So why bump yourself off? So lazy docs can follow their sheets?
Guest guest
No Val, I thought you were finally ready to make a conclusion after gathering much info. Shorthanding. I could not have lasted six weeks back when the PA was lower, and later, not a single day. That I allowed them to talk me into trying HCTZ type of drugs again and again says more about the perceived position of the doctor than it does about patient dumbness, I think. Wish I'd found this group long before I did. dave Valarie wrote: > > Dave, I may have sounded ungrateful this morning. > > What I meant to say is - I understand this . now. Guest guest
I am doing well on it. Perhaps your dosage is not adjusted to the level you need. I know that I experience the symptoms you are describing when I've overloaded the day with salt and the Inspra is not strong enough to affect it. Are you doing the DASH diet? It really helps to lower your salt intake as much as possible.
