Guest guest
Hi Colleen: Have you tried emu oil? It's really great for itchy skin -- even helps relieve eczema and psoriasis amongst other things. Just a suggestion. Edna in Connecticut and Oxford, NY Natural cure for a rash I have some itchy rash on my neck that is driving me absolutely buggy!!!!! It's been there on & off for a bit over a week. I have no idea what I got into, but I'm about to scratch the skin off. I've tried Caladryl Clear, Cortaid, otc anti-itch medicated cream, Ivarest. Nothing is working. We still don't have medical insurance, so I can't go to the doctor yet. Besides Tea Tree Oil (which I can't stand the smell of), is there anything else anyone knows of I can try to stop this itching? I will be forever grateful!!! (As I scratch, scratch, scratch!) Guest guest
Do you have any Comfrey laying around??? Look up on line to make a salve of Comfrey root & leaves. Sucha as: Olive Oil infused with comfrey Beeswax Shea butter Comfrey is an anti-inflamitory. Shea butter is revered for its skin healing qualities. Bees waxs has great qualities and is used as a thickener, Lord knows Olive Oil has tons of great qualities. You could also make a cream (pretty much like you woulf with lotion) but using a tea of comfrey root in place of plain water. Guest guest
Another thing to take into consideration.... Your skin is another filtering organ (organ in a sense) and if your liver has been over taxed trying to rid the body of medicines, processed/junk foods, alcohols, or if you have been sick lately; this could be why you have the rash. You might want to try going to raw foods, and staying away from sweets. Drink lemon water. There is alot of books out there on detox programs; but if you have any I'llnesses I would really consult a physician first. People with diabetes, heart problems, and other illnesses may have to be monitered during this detox/or fasting. Just some ideas...... Google Detox and read up on it, or goto local library! Also look up on liver filtering. Check out some books by Rosemary Gladstar, Weed, and Hoffman!! Gabby > > I have some itchy rash on my neck that is driving me absolutely > buggy!!!!! Lavender might help the rash, at least to soothe it, and peppermint can help stop the itching. I'd use 4 -6 drops of lav., plus 3 -4 drops of peppermint in 1 oz. of veg. oil. Guest guest
Hi Colleen, Are most of the spring plants up in SC? If so, find some jewelweed. If you aren't sure what it looks like, I can send a pic. It's usually abundant in damp areas, and it is truly MAGIC for itching of any kind. My husband does landscaping, so I always make some up in witch hazel for the crew as someone always manages to get poison ivy, and even those guys swear by it. The plant has hollow stems that are filled with a liquid, similar to aloe vera, but not as thick. Just break open a stem and slather it on. Instant relief! I would send you some, but the plants won't be up here for two more months!lol is there > anything else anyone knows of I can try to stop this itching? Guest guest
Thanks for all the info Gabby! No comfrey here though. It's something I've never had. I've actually been eating hardly any junk food for months. Maybe my body is going thru withdrawal. LOL! I haven't been sick either. Who knows! I will keep trying different things until something works. Thanks again!!! Guest guest
I'll have to ask around about the jewelweed. Thanks for the suggestion ! I have no idea what it looks like. Terri used to come to my house in NY and pick my weeds (might have been jewelweed), but I never paid any attention. LOL!
