HI , I had just about the same surgery years ago. It does get better.

After a long time the pain goes away. Well most of it. My upper legs are much

weaker after the surgery I understand that is normal. Who did your surgery?

DID YOU HAVE THE TIBIAL ANTERIOR TENDON SPLIT? I DIDN'T AND I WAS WONDERING IF

YOU FELT THAT HELPED. I ALSO HAD THE SOFT BRACE THOSE ARE GREAT,MUCH BETTER THEN

THE HARD CAST. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE HOME FREE NOW OR DO YOU HAVE TO GET

ORTHOTICS OR BRACES. I FEEL NOW THAT I HAD MY SURGERY I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WEAR

ANY OF THESE BUT MAYBE I'M WRONG. ANYONE OUT THERE WITH A THOUGHT ON THIS???

HI , My surgery worked great for years and years. I will have to have a

brace soon for my left foot. I am developing drop foot again. My left foot

surgery lasted for 25 years. My right foot had to be redone after 12 years.

i don't think anyone is home free with CMT. It always seems to be something.

I live in lancaster

Sorry for the delay in responding but I just got my arm out of the brace from

dislocating my elbow.

I would like to say that I had the triple arthodesis surgery on both ankles/feet

when I was 12 yrs. old. I was 8 yrs. old when diagnosed. I did not need AFO's

until I broke my leg going down stairs (which created spiral fractures since the

surgery fuses your ankles and it is like wearing ski boots you break above where

it's braced, etc.) The surgery is in place of the AFO;s. The surgery got me

through the growing up years and I could accept AFO's better in my 30's than in

my teens.

Hi --you said <Walking seems to wear me out so for exercise I do

house work.>

*****************************************************

What can you say to inspire me to do housework, and feel it's beneficial?

I'm sure it benefits you in2 ways--you are exercising, plus getting some

work done. But I hate housework!! I'm going to try to look at it as a

weight-loser, maybe that will help.

Perhaps I should always have a dust cloth in a pocket--then when I fall,

I can dust the low things, as I crawl to some support to get up. LOL
