BFL and GAS

Hey girls,

I just started BFL about a week ago, and I'm feeling more energetic,

but noticing a serious problem with GAS. I have to be honest, it

smells terrible, comes often after meals, and is quite embarassing

at work.

Has anyone else had this symptom? I'm used to eating lots of whole

fruits and vegetables, so I think the increase may be due to having

more protein. Was there an adequate solution for this? If it

doesn't abate, I may have to lower my protein intake until it the

gas problem reaches a manageable level.

Other than this, I'm feeling great, quite energetic and positive.

:D

Hi, I also have this problem, and the only thing I know to do is take gasx

pills before eating anything that I know produces gas, It helps if I remember

to take the pills. I had to make a choice to deal with the gas or keep being

fat, so I take the pills, lol.

Here is a list of foods that may give you gas (can't remember where I got it,

but it has helped me:

Some people experience excessive gas after eating:

Apples Cucumbers Potatos

Apricots Dried beans Prune juice

Bran cereals Eggplant Prunes

Bran muffins Fried foods Radishes

Broccoli Ice cream Raisins

Brussel sprouts Ice milk Rutabaga

Cabbage Kohirabi Sauerkraut

Cauliflower Lentils Soybeans

Cheese Lima beans Tomatoes

Citrus fruits Milk Wheat germ

Cream Onions Whole wheat bread

Hope this helps you, good luck

I have also found that Myoplex (even the lite) gives me gas. That

is why I switched to Isopur shakes and EAS Results when I am on the

run.

I have no help on this... but thought I'd relate a pretty

funny/embarssing story. I was doing leg lifts at the gym the other

night and there's something about those that gets my insides moving

too... and I let out the biggest fart! Worse thing was that the

weight area was packed, I was so embarassed!!! I know everyone does

it though, just usually not so loud! :(

I have battled with this on and off since starting BFl last summer

(I even posted about it). What supplements are you taking? I have

found that CLA really gave me the worst gas, and since eliminating

that, it's been a lot beter. Also, when I eat Myoplex bars, I feel

gassy as well. I have been drinking ready to drink shakes (as

opposed to the ones with lots of air made in my blender) and I have

NO problems whatsoever!

Veggies are the worst for me, especially raw. I get so sick, I can

barely move. Beano helps, but it makes me constipated the next day.

---You Poor Thing!

I can't imagine suffering so much from fresh vegs.

This is just an idea -

Maybe you have tried supplementing with digestive enzymes ?

(They greatly decrease in our bodies even while we are in our 30's. :(

Perhaps eating so much protein requires more digestion, thus more

enzymes, etc --- So to eat healthier, our bodies require more

enzymes. )

I am not an expert on this at all....

My husband is a chiropractor and prescribes nutritional supplements -

(You can find some at whole foods? or some other natural store?

Or from some Chiropractors or Osteopathic Doctors? )

Veggies are the worst for me, especially raw. I get so sick, I can

haha! Sometimes my cats are worse than me!

I'm so paranoid now everytime I do leg lifts, I wait until I get home

to do them.

Oh My God! I have so much gas you can probably smell it from your

computer! It's worse when I am taking all my suppliments and doing a

challenge, like now. This Feb. Muscle Media magazine has an article

about gas written by Porter Freeman (Body for Life champ) in

" Freeman's word " page 62. Check it out. Apparently it's normal.

Thanks,. I've been taking enzymes for years. They help, but

veggies are still a no-go. It IS terrible. My mom has the same

problem. I can only handle a half cup at a time at the most.
