Guest guest
Thanks to you, too, Shaye for the endorsement of Kellers. RE: Re: Colleen I have a lot of soapwerks (Kellers) micas and I love em. I also have some beautiful micas from the Scent Shack as well. Someone else has a bunch of colors too but I cant think of them off hand. Shaye

Guest guest
Yes thats true. Things could have been a whole lot worse. Shaye If this accident had to happen - better now than when it gets warm and nice. Poor Gretchen had her accident in the summer. She wore the cast way into the fall. Missed all her swimming. Guest guest
Thanks, Shaye. I was pretty sure they were OK so I did pound on some of it last night and got my 1/4 cup but held off adding it to my mixture until I heard from you guys. Thanks stupid question? Hey group I know I haven't been around much lately. My daughter recently moved into a new house (well, I should say old house) and have been SO busy renovating it. In between that I'm either babysitting my granddaughter or filling orders. I also had an order to do 40 soaps for a wedding shower. I have a good size order to fill and one of the items on the order is Bath Salts. I used to make them all the time but haven't made any in a few years. Now for the question.....is there a Shelf Life for Sea Salts, Dendritic Salt and Epsom Salts? My Sea Salts seem fine - no clumping. My Dendritic Salt seems fine, too. But I have 3 boxes of Epsom Salts and they are all a solid block in the box. If I can break the Epsom Salts up so they're usable will they be OK to use or should I go out and buy all new? I'm only making a pound of Bath Salts so I only need 1/4 cup of Epsom Salts for this recipe. I'd like to get this order done and in their hands by Tuesday night. So if anybody has an answer for me please post it right away!! Thanks M

Guest guest
Shaye I remember you saying once that you were going to play around with it but never heard the outcome. I don't a LOT of oxides on hand. I use mostly micas in my soaps since I only do M & P. The colors of oxides I have I don't think I would like to pot on my face :>) Anyway, I really would like to try it. The other part of the mineral makeup thing is that the brushes you use are really very important in how well the makeup goes on. And good brushes can get expensive, too. But I'm sure it's all worth it in the long run. I hate to even think of all of the unknown chemicals and goop we're putting on our face using store bought make-up. RE: Mineral Makeup , its not expensive if you already have oxides on hand which I think most of us do since we make soaps. You just need a few other things.I made some a while back and managed to match up my skin but it did take a little tweeking and I think unfortunatly I forgot to take notes. I am getting low on what I made so its time to play again. And I've done some eye shadows too and attempted a blush but it wasnt the best. Since then I havnt made the time to play too much so I havnt sold any but it is one of those goals of mine. This time I will be sure and take notes! LOL I'll have a couple of suppliers and I'll look up the website of a gal who has TONS of supplies and I'll email you. Or I beleive Monave has kits if im not mistaken. Guest guest
Hi Shaye So glad to hear your husband will have a walking cast on. Just in time for the good weather, too. Good luck on your computer, too. What a pain they can be!! Re: trouble with DPC I wish us all good luck. My hubby has used Mozilla and I beleive he liked it too. He is an EE also. Im not sure thats what he currently uses though. I have been using Slimbrowser and I like it I guess. Today is the day, Hubby is suppose to get his cast off. YEAH! Ok now for the walking cast. I imagine I will still be driving him places and carrying stuf for him for a few weeks yet. He is anxious to get out on his cycle. (rolling eyes) LOL Computer is still in the shop, they didnt call yesterday. Have a good day and enjoy this nice weather! Shaye
Guest guest
Shaye Oops, I posted my question to you and then read the rest of my email where you answered my question. RE: Re: Gathering Biz - a few things , I dont really have a cut off date. I'll put you down and then you can let me know when the time comes if you can still make it or not. That sound ok? Im sorry you have to be going thru this with your grandpa. Everyone who is not sure... and wether or not to pay the fee because your not sure. You will be reimbursed if you pay and you dont make it. I understand things happen. Thanks! Shaye

Guest guest
Hi guys! Yes, I am here... I am thinking I am going to have to pass on the gathering this year. I have sooo much work to do, and we keep finding MORE " projects " to do. We had an addition on the garage this past summer, so Mark could have some room for a workshop. (a dream for him) Well, I decided (woe is me!!!) that as a Christmas gift the kids and I would help to insulate the old part of the garage so he wouldn't freeze in the winter, nor bake in the summer. and I spent 4 days putting up insulation. I worked with this HORRIBLE mask that made me literally GASP for breath...anyway, I got sick with a rotten cold for about 2 weeks after that. We are just finishing up putting up OSB over the insulation. I now need to cut down 6 trees in the front yard, as they were supposed to be cut down several years ago. I need to cut firewood. Thankfully, I was like a crazed beaver last year, and cut down so much wood, we STILL have quite a bit left over! Hurrah!!! Oh, and while putting up the insulation, I was using a staple gun to tack it up. Apparently, the stapler buggered up my hand and now it feels numb and " tingly " ...so now I am wondering how the chainsaw work will go. Mark is really wanting to get an addition on our back deck. He was only in the swimming pool once last year. Getting him in and out involves everyone co-operating to accomplish this. He is hoping to get a deck by the pool so he can get in and out without so much help. He also has never been in the hot tub, as he is nervous about getting back out again. He is thinking we can incorporate the deck to have a seat so he can also get in and out of the tub. Also, we need some sidewalks. Does my schedule look a LITTLE busy? hehehehe In the midst of all of this, I am HOPING we can do a little camping, too. Last night, and I " camped out " and had fun! It makes me crazy seeing that little camper parked out there...I have SUCH a case of " wanderlust " ... Hopefully, we will be able to complete this mountainous amount of STUFF...in the autumn, we plan to finish the garage by insulating the upstairs and then covering the walls and ceiling. I am so sure that by the time winter comes, I will be ready to HIBERNATE!!!!! Kae..who keeps running into herself coming and going.... LOL ok cool! Do you mean Kae? Guest guest
Hey Lou, I miss you too!!!! Hehehehehe Please forgive my facetious(?) mood....I just watched the BUFFALO SABRES game, and well....I thought my heart was TRULY going to QUIT working several times!!!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SABRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Jeanine, did you see that game?) OK, now that THAT is off my chest.... Yes, , I do love the winter, but one of the MAIN reasons is that because the days are shorter, I can sneak off to my bedroom earlier to relax without feeling guilty. Long days make for MUCH more work....I do not look forward to that.... WATCH SABRES GAMES!!!!! hehehehehehehehe GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sabres!!!! Oh, Jeanine, this was the MOST nail-biting game I have EVER seen. And those OLN announcers were so pro-Ottawa. Poor Mark was all gloomy, and I told him NOT to worry...there was ONE minute left in the game...sure enough, those Sabres tied it up, and finished off the game in 18 SECONDS of overtime....Am I PSYCHED? You betcha!!! We made it to 2 Sabres games this year. It was so cool. I am so tired of Buffalo being the brunt of every bad joke. I am really pulling for the Sabres to do Buffalo proud!!!! It just seems like this year we have so much to do, and Mark has been working so hard to get things put together. I figure once the garage is put in order, then we can <finally> concentrate on the house. So many things have been overlooked for far too long. My parents came for a couple of days this past week for a visit....my dad spent one day fixing outdoor light fixtures that had gone bad. Can you imagine a 76 yo man up HIGH on a ladder? Dad puts me to shame!!!!!! (I do NOT do electrical work!!!) I know I will miss everyone, too. I have looked forward to the gathering every year with great anticipation. As you know, I don't " get out much " and look forward to seeing my soapy buds! Soooo, this year I shall live vicariously, looking forward to posts describing all the fun and excitement!!! Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! I had a good day. You know your getting old when you thought you were a year older than you actually are!!! LOL But thats a good thing though. Hubby took a vacation day today, we went for breakfast and some garage saleing. Found some old small size picture frames for one of my hobbies for cheep. I was thrilled about that. And hubby found a cane to use when he gets rid of those crutches.. Its unusal and handcarved with an elephant on it. Not sure what wood it is. Then in the afternoon I picked my dd up from school and took her to a dr appt. And to have a little blood drawn (she has the biggest needle phobia I swear but we got thru it). And then we ate dinner at " Shaye's Cafe " where they cooked out steak on the grill, roast potatoes and corn on the cob. yummy. Then of course a very chocolate cake. Now just recovering from the meal. . The weather was vry nice and not rainy like they predicted. So it was a good day. My family bought me a very cool gift. One of those cool saop cutters from " For Crafts Sake " Cant wait to make some soap to try it out!!!! I looks like a very nice thing. Thanks again for all the birthday wishes guys!!! Your the best!
