Guest guest
Hi everyone. I'm so happy to be a member of this group! I have a 3 1/2 yr old son (DS) and an 8 yr old daughter. My son is in a mainstreamed preschool with few non-diabled peers. He has always babbled A LOT making lots of sounds and can say maybe 15 words fairly clearly. My question is...will you share with me when you children started talking clearly and anything other than standard speech therapy that helped?? We are very frustrated! I am a high school teacher and I have always been very pro-active. We work with Ian a lot at home but we are not seeing much progress. He will say the same phrase, exactly the same way over and over. I know he's frustrated too because after trying to figure it out and asking him to show me what he's talking about, sometimes he'll just say, " Mom, Hush! " That's always clear!! (We have tried sign language several times but he just doesn't seem interested.) I would love to hear your stories!! Thanks and blessings, , mother to Ian and Jillian
