our summer so far

Hi friends, thought I would update you on our summer so far.

First of July, we went to Florida - Andre had a math conference (only reason we

go anywhere!)and we stayed in Orlando, at a gorgeous Hyatt hotel, and the kids

and I, and sometimes Andre, visited DisneyWorld.

It was terribly hot, and the first 2 days, July 3 and 4, were REALLY crowded. I

think the holiday had something to do with that. The other thing I found, was

that, although I had dining reservations planned, and some attractions, like

parades, these things had to be scratched cause Livi didn't like all the noise,

which surprised me. But maybe it shouldn't have. But once we went along with

that, and even took a break in the middle of it - luckily, we could - we had

enough time to have a one day break from the park after the very crowded 4th -

and the kids opted to come back early to swim in the pool at the Hyatt some days

instead of staying until the fireworks. Anyway, with Olivia, we couldn't have.

But it went pretty well from then on.

One thing I noticed I had a hard time with, was others' negative reactions to

Livi. Some people are amused by her, others are annoyed. Once we were standing

in line to see Mickey after some attraction, and she busted the line, went under

the poles and those velvet ropes and ran up to Mickey as a girl was getting her

photo taken. This mom was really annoyed, and said " Hello? Can someone get this

child? " Well, I'm not three feet tall, and I can't move as quick as Livi through

these obstacles, with my big bag, camera bag (and big butt)But I did get her

quick as I could. But someones comment like that will stay in my head all day.
