Guest guest
Dr. Grim, I didn't get the aldo and renin results from my Endo - all they gave me were the chemistry results. I see my primary doc in Nov. and I am going to ask him if he can get me the aldo and renin results. He usually doesn't hesitate about copies when I ask him, not like they do at the Endo's office. I knew I should have typed out the lab ranges along with the others! Here it is: Testosterone, serum - 32 - (range 14 - 76 ng/dL) Testost, % Free & Weak - 20.5 (range 3.0 - 18.0 %) Testost., F & W Bound - 6.6 (range 0.0 - 9.5 ng/dL) TSH - 1.506 (range 0.470 - 4.200 uIU/mL) Free T4 - 1.22 (range 0.75 - 2.00 NG/DL) Follicle Stimul. hormone - 1.3 (IU/L) *Reference range *Adult Male 1.6 - 18.1 IU/L *Adult Female *Follicullar 1.5 - 11.4 IU/L *Ovulatory 5.1 - 34.2 IU/L *Luteal 1.1 - 8.4 IU/L *Post Menopausal 27.6 - 132.9 IU/L Luteinizing hormone 1.1 *Reference range *Adult Male (>50 years old) 2.0 - 18.0 IU/L *Adult Female *Follicullar 0.8 - 9.8 IU/L *Ovulatory 17.5 - 49.0 IU/L *Luteal 0.6 - 10.8 IU/L *Post Menopausal 30.0 - 72.6 IU/L Prolactin - 16.5 (range 3.0 - 19.0 ng/ml) *Reference range *Male 3.0 - 16.0 ng/ml *Female *Non -pregnant 3.0 - 19.0 ng/ml *Pregnant 10.0 - 185.0 ng/ml Potassium - 4.2 (range 3.5 - 5.3 MEQ/L) Sodium - 140 (range 135 - 145 MEQ/L) Chloride - 110 (range 94 - 110 MEQ/L) Carbon Dioxide - 26 (range 22 - 33 MEQ/L) Anion Gap - 4 (range n/a) Glucose - 98 (range 70 - 100 MG/DL) Blood Urea Nitrogen 15 (range 7 - 25 MG/DL) Creatinine - 0.9 (range 0.8 - 1.6 MG/DL) Bun/Creatinine ratio - 17 (range 10 - 20) Uric Acid serum - 4.7 (range 1.7 - 6.4 MG/DL) Calcium - 9.3 (range 8.5 - 10.4 MG/DL) Phosphorous - 2.9 (range 2.5 - 4.7 MG/DL) Total Protein - 6.6 (range 5.9 - 8.3 G/DL) Albumin - 4.4 (range 3.0 - 5.1 G/DL) A/G ratio - 2.0 (range 1.0 - 2.7 G/DL) Globulin - 2.2 (range 1.5 - 3.8 G/DL) Total Bilirubin - 0.3 (range 0.1 - 1.3 MG/DL) Alkaline Phos. - 49 (range 40 - 140 U/L) GGT - 33 (range 5 - 65 U/L SGPT/ALT - 25 (range 5 - 48 U/L) SGOT/AST - 17 (range 5 - 40 U/L) LDH - 145 (range 125 - 275 U/L)

What was the hormone problem that stimulated the ordering of all these tests? ie what symptoms did you give and what history. May your pressure be low! Clarence E. I really gave him no reason to order them. See what I mean? I mean the doctor I have to deal with. I'm beginning to think more and more that he's not quite sure what he's dealing with when it comes to this tumor on my adrenal gland. Or because you are a woman and Endos always order these tests on women ;-) May your pressure be low! Clarence E.
