Guest guest
Pat, I dont think so, if there is its probably a long time huh? I keep mine in the freezer after once I had a " buggy " episode. Not to worry, the offending flowers got tossed. Shaye Subject: dried herbs Hello everyone, Is there a shelf life for dried herbs such as calendula, chamomile, basil, sage etc.? I infuse a lot of herbs and keep them in a tupperware type container. Thanks, Pat Handcrafted Soaps and more....www.thestylishcollection.com -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
I do the same thing as Shaye. It seems that the calendula is usually the culprit but the first time I saw bugs I freaked! I've been keeping them in the freezer ever since. Solved that problem. Katy Shaye wrote: >Pat, I dont think so, if there is its probably a long time huh? Guest guest
Katy It was calendula that was my problem too. The lady I got them from replaced them and also said whenever you get herbs or flowers to freeze for the first few days and that will kill bugs, but I jsut kept them in the freezer anyway. I wonder what she does with the supplies that are " waiting " to be bought. I hope they are not crawling with buggies. Guest guest
According to what I am learning, some people don't keep there herbs more that 6 months to a year; but I have learned that if thee herbs look, smell, and taste the way they did when you bought them then they are still good! Guest guest
Yeah keep them in an air tight container, in a cool dark place, with not temprature fluxuation. This ops for best shelf life.
