Was he helpful? Yes, he was okay. I am the complicated one. I was in the middle of a hypertensive crisis due to the five day heatwave. He had me go to the local ER. That is where my problems started. In summary, the ER said my problem was due to the excessive heat, constipation and my double colon. is this a good thing that he did or what? Any advice would be great. My problem was MY doctors. Later, I was too ill after the ER treatment to follow up with anyone. Gutkin's written response to my doctors was ignored. The hospital I was in ignored Gutkin's multiple page fax. After 4 days in ICU, I was sent home WITHOUT any discharge papers. Finally, at my doctors in December 2005 for refills I found Gutkin's response hidden in my medical records. Dr Gutkin's letter was dated August 2005. It sat untouched in my records for four months. When I questioned that doctor he said they (his group) was ignoring it. So, Dr Gutkin was very efficient. It was my local hospital and my doctors who were not! I presume they did not like being told about the PA or even secondary PA.
