On the average it will be Prob of having two diseases: prob of disease 1 x prob of disease 2. So if prob of PA is say 1/100,000 and Pheo is 1/1,000,000 then mulitple it out. So the risk is very small but not zero. I have never seen both but have only seen 150-200 PAs and 50 pheos so my chances of seeing both would be very small. This assumes that PA and Pheo do not alter the risk of having the other. one o May your pressure be low! C.E. I have conn's confirmed. I am scared of finding out pheo. but the symptoms are there. What a way to exist. In my experience I am most often wrong when I think a pt has a pheo based on symptoms. There are a lot of folks who have the Sx but dont have a pheo. My guess is 1000 to 1 is the ratio. Dont know what they have but pheo is very easy to diagnose. Just takes a 24 hr urine or we prefer a sleep urine which should have the lowest cats in it. May your pressure be low! C.E. Guest guest
, I too have circulating aldo and catechols as well as serotonin. I personally spoke with Dr. Karel Pacak at NIH about this. He told me that he has only knows of 3 cases of carcinoid and pheo and only a handful of Conn's and pheo in the same person. The chances are next to nil.
